I play games.. not benchmarks.
In your particular case maybe not...
However the only purpose benchmarks serve to me now is that they sometimes highlight when there is a critical problem in my system somewhere.
Point still stands, downloading a 600MB app then watching a few pretty demos, getting a number then posting it achieves nothing IMO because in the time spent doing that I could have derived a lot more satisfaction in other ways

In that I agree, mostly, although sometimes its nice to just sit back and watch the pretty pictures as my wife calls them. Other times your right I would rather be doing something instead of watching my cmoputer be turned into a TV with very bad digital reception.

4564 - 3DMark06
8384 - 3DMark05
The '05 score is just as a comparison of the same system running both benchmarks.

I think this is a great representation of hardware performance, if they increase as they did here, they reflect the changes i made to my system, along with when i was overclocking my cpu, it went up pretty equivically to how I increased the fsb. those who say it doesn't work are mad because they have an unstable system, it is "the gamers benchmark." you think futuremark would know what they were doing, but for all the rebel geniuses out there, apparently not.... anyhoooo here's my scores
With Cards @456/1094(no artifact's with a stock cooling solution)
5892 total
2807 sm 2.0
2855 HDR/sm 3.0
1209 cpu score
With Cards @462/1100(no artifact's, solid clock)

2807 sm 2.0
2883 HDR/sm 3.0
1196 cpu score(norton antivirus running, forgot to turn it off
With Cards @470/1132(counted 7 artifact's throughout)
5943 total
2838 sm 2.0
2902 HDR/sm 3.0
1205 cpu score
And just for reference
3dmark05(GPU c@470/1132)
9603 GPU score
5585 Cpu score
and i got somewhere around 9480 with my 456/1094 clock

We're talking about CPU's, and their impact in the scores, not GPU's. My system is not unstable, not even close. Dont make so many assumptions.
AMD is supposed to show their quad-core CPU's this summer, and possibly have them available late this year for purchase. Would you like 3dmark to quadruple the CPU score, and give a 40% in the total score because of this?
Also, its PCIe, or PCI-E, not PCI-X.

Hey, maybe someone has a PCI-X video card?

I agree. I test my system and write down the results. When I check it later, they should be similiar. If not, I know something is wrong. I also use it before and after a new video driver. My best stock rig gets about 3200 on 3dmark05. My friend got a expensive dell xps laptop(don't ask why, I told him to get a cheap laptop, and then get a desktop for gaming. He would have saved money.) Well I tested it when he got it and he only got a 1800 with a 9800 and a 3.4. Seemed low. About 4 months later, it tests at 1500 and the 2nd one was 961. He was able to get a dell tech guy to come to his house. It was because he could mention the 3dmark scores. The laptop passed the internal test that he did over the phone. It was clogged filters, but he changed or added a fan. It was all free. He now gets a 2300 or something like that.

yeah ummm so I tried to run o6...................with my opty, and Evga 7800..........the one test............I didn't even get 1FPS!
Though seriously I have nto had time to really play with the hardware, just set up stock, and play with the ram, to get out of having 4100errors in MEMTEST!
and not really tried to OC, saving cash to get 2GB of G.Skill.
Then I might be able to post a score.............<<<<shudders at the thought of 0fps.........................

Also, its PCIe, or PCI-E, not PCI-X.
For your information, pci-e x16 slots are referred to as pci-x (pci express x16 slots w/o saying express and specifying the video card slots or their speeds x16)
Also, it doesn't take a genious to figure out that this thread is NOT for "CPU's, and their impact in the scores, not GPU's."
look at the topic, 3DMark06 Scores, line-em up.
It includes the whole score, individual stats if you want to include them, why i posted so many was that other people may find it benificial to see how a system like mine would compair to others, overclocked and stock. it's all about helping people, not bashing them(seems like someone needs some help in the subject btw.)
but what do I know... i'm just stating the obvious and the kid gets upset.
think before you talk, or type, whatever the case.
