Got my set today, the artwork is great and the game actually seems deep. I'll post more details after this weekend when I actually get a chance to play it.

I think I read on their site that you can download and print some sample cards to try out.

It's a part of their new UFS system, which includes decks based on fighting games like Street Fighter and Soul Calibur. What this means is that you could play Gabe or Tycho against Chun-Li or whatever, and actually stand a chance of victory. This is not possible under ordinary circumstances.
Roflmao.

Has got that jut
I ordered my set last Friday, a few days later it still says "processing" on their site, so I checked to make sure it was in stock. It was, so I sent an email asking what the delay was, and they said that now that it is in stock, they will hurry and ship it. Still processing, almost a full week later.

Oh I guess it was sample cards for the other games. Sorry.
If our particular manifestation doesn't turn your crank, but you are interested in the mechanics of a card game based on arcade fighters like Soul Calibur and Street Fighter, there is some recourse for you. You can actually get demo decks for free online, print them out, and play to your heart's content - here is the Soul Calibur one, and here is one for Street Fighter. You can even mail the guys at Sabertooth at [email protected], and they'll send a couple to your house if you so desire.

One thing I like about this system is that the decks seem to be self contained. No going out searching for boosters or anything like that. I gave up on the M:tG stuff a while back; between video games, books, and (especially) comics, I have enough stuff taking my money without becoming addicted to the crack that is the CCG.
Although this is a pretty fun, free one I played online for a while -

Of course, for other non collectible card games, you can't go wrong with cheapass.com.

Awesome.
Yeah, collectible card games are too much trouble, games like this are much more fun. I was looking at the rules of this one last night and for some reason it seems unnecissarily complicated, but I guess I'll see how it really is this weekend.
A good, easy, and portable one I like is Lunch Money. Each player is supposed to be a little schoolgirl and the game consists of playing cards to beat the **** out of the other players and verbally humiliate them.

For me, Munchkin will always be my number 1 card game. My wife and I use to get together with some of our firends and have 6-7 player games that would last for 4-6 hours. It was crazy go nuts fun and rocked even more when you took a shot each time you leveled up. the game is pretty versitle, and you can buy addons for such genres as monsters, ninjas, superheores, and etc.

I've seen Munchkin, haven't played it, it looks fun. The reason why I mention Lunch Money is because its a fast, fun, and easy to pick up game that I just bring around with me in my car for times when things are boring and there are 3 other people nearby.

Actually there is one collectible card game worth the trouble. Magic the gathering. Almost every japanese collectible card game is based off it some way or another. Duel Masters is an exact copy. Its probably the best card game in the world.

It also costs a fortune to be really competitive at, and I have never had a crack-like addiction to a MMORPG like I did to M:tG. Don't need a cash sink like THAT again.
