Card upgrade from an old ATI user

Currently have an AGP system and holding out for Conroe like a lot of people. Is the nvidia 7900GT the best card to get, specifically this one looked like a really nice deal. Is eVGA a good brand? Any brands to be wary of?

Nothing wrong with that card at all, though I'd personally rather have an x1900XT.

Ya, that is pretty much the best you can get for AGP no, as for the company never had anything of theirs but i know a few that do and no real problems.

Now I also have a question along the same lines, I dont want to upgrade just yet but would like to get some better performance on my current system and was thinking of upgrading my ATI 9800Pro to XFX 6800XT. And i dont really want to spend all that money for the 7800 at this time.

Anyway do you think thats a worthy upgrade, will i see a significant increase?

Any ATI cards possibly I should be looking at?

The card you linked to is a PCI-e card, not AGP. If you are talking about getting this card after you get your new system, the X1800XT is overall faster and costs less than the 7900GT.

Yes, meant to be clearer. I will be going PCI-e, DDR2, conroe. I will look into the x1800xt and is there a x1900?

I've been watching the x1900XT's, they are starting to creep their way down in price. $325-350. They are the best sub-$500 card you can get.

If the top of the line card is already below $400, a new $599+ champ is due "soon"

geez your weird and rude! Maybe because they are rich? I dont have money and frankly am not a hardcore gamer so I arent spending $500 on a video card. I have my Conroe upgrade planned but its not a high priority, I have other things to take care of first

EVGA is a solid vid card company. I'd have no probs buying a 7900gt from them.

If you have any game at all, you can actually have sex without paying for it. Nice try though.
