Mobility x1400 HyperMemory vs Geforce 7300 Go TurboCache

The 7300 Go is $50 more expensive than the x1400 Mobility. A lot of people I know have said that the x1400 is even faster than the 7300 Go at some things, so I'm wondering if i should spend the extra $50 to get that 7300 Go on my laptop.

Most of the games I'll be playing will probably be quite graphics intensive like HL2 + CSS etc, CnC 3, Supreme Commander etc.

Anyone can recommend me what to do?

    Perhaps this will help. It looks like X1400 > 7300GO & 7400GO.

the x1400 is significantly better than the 7300...i take it you are looking at a dell e1505/1705?

I was pleasantly surprised about how well the x1400 performed.

i have a dell e1505 laptop with these specs:
    - 1.86ghz Core 2 Duo - Yonah
    - 1gb DDR2
    - 256mb Radeon X1400

i get a steady 30-60fps in all Source based games (HL2, CS:S) with Medium-High settings and 1280x800 resolution... Quake 4 is good at medium while Oblivion and FEAR are pretty much unplayable unless you can stand 640x480

I thought you could get 30fps in fear...as long as you stand in the corner facing the wall and not move that is.

For any serious gamming of modern titles, go for a laptop with 1 Gig RAM and the Go7600 or mobile x1600 with 256 MB dedicated RAM. There are companies selling laptops with these features for under $1500. ex. HP dv8000t with a Core Duo T2250.
