    Wing Commander/Strike Commander?

what ever happen to this game series. I mean I know that Strike Commander only had one game which i loved but wing commander had so many spin off's that I am suprised that no one has tried to revamp this awesome title.

or at least make them playable. I still have strike commander and couldn't get it to work right..even in dosbox

I just bought Ace Combat 4 for my ps2..and it's good enough strike commander type game to get me by

Both classics. Played both into the ground. Strike commander needed some sequels. It wasn't too complicated (a la Jane's or Falcon 3.0) and the inventory/cost management was an intriguing twist.

I think the death blow to the wing commander series, other than a lack of innovation after the second game, was the movie... I don't think anyone can take it remotely seriously now...

I agree. And I didn't get it. I mean Wing Commander III, and IV basically WERE movies. Fairly good ones, especially IV. Why they didn't simply use the plot (and Mark Hammel) from one of those is beyond me.
