AT&T charging me $50 for their $20 service, we were grandfathered in, but still, wth?
We're old Pacbell customers that turned into SBC, then AT&T customers. I was checking their services and noticed that their 1.5 mbps down and 384 kbps up service was $20. I checked our billing section and noticed that we're paying $50 a month...
This just strikes me as totaly screwed up, and I havent been able to find much information on this elsewhere, anyone have this happen to them? or know whats up with this?
I guess the main good news is i learned i could get 6mbps service for $35.

It's common enough. It's the same with any other service. If you don't take advantage of their current promotions, you just stay with whatever you already have. That's why it pays to stay on top of current promotions if your current contract on your dsl/cable/cell phone/etc is expired.

Unless you have a contract, price increases can happen just as they do with anything else.
