Okay I understand, obviously if I heard you say it I would have understood, by the tone of your voice, which we can't account for here.
My appologies for starting such a stupid debate, when I interpreted what he wrote wrong.

Wow, thats pathetic, cant even play C&C. I highly doubt America could even make a law to ban all violent games.-for one, just think of how many we already have.

Awesome.
Germany has always had rediculous censorship laws, but this is crazy.

I am now back in Germany after 15 years and I am not fussed. Should they ever ban violent games here, us adults will get them somewhere else ( I still have friends in the Netherlands who could mail them to me). Order online, I do not like games in german anyway (or with green blood).
One guy wrote a good comment in a newspaper here: What exactly will they prevent by banning violent games if they can not even make sure that an 18 year old can not get a weapon to start a columbine.
The right wing politicians, (btw they are the ones doing the proposal: CSU In Bavaria not sure about lower saxony) are just like everywhere else, living in a bubble and have no idea really what goes on in real life.
+ If they ban these games, might as well well ban the news, movies, books, the army. Anything that could produce violence.
Pathetic

So someone could take up a new profession as being an illegal video games dealer to Germany by selling the junkies copies of uncensored GoW goodness. LOL. But what that guy said in the newspaper SHADOW read is correct: What good is banning the games if they still have access to the weapons???
And Freddy, I was with Idiot on his argument... you did word that sentence oddly. I was a bit confused to it's meaning as well

OH ! Go ahead and ban video games, but god forbid ban the weapons. Its no longer guns that kill people, its videogames. Blame the damn kids and their parents if they don't discipline them.

LOL Transfurzz I do not own any weapons but I just got done playin Fuzion Frenzy and have become and have decided I am going to kill you. If only someone had taken this game away from me perhaps we could silence the violence!!!
I just don't like this way of thinking when it comes to lawmaking. It reminds me of a lecture I had in my immunology/virology class. Usually cancers are caused by multiple factors: usually a carcinogen and a cofactor. For example if you sunbathe and smoke your are probably more likely to develop some type of skin cancer (in theory). These german lawmakers are basically saying "well if we take away the cigarettes perhaps they won't get skin cancer." WRONG. Sunbathing leads to a higher probability for generating a skin cancer causing problem.
Hit the CONTRIBUTING source first. Then go after the cofactors. Take away the guns/means to getting them, and then get rid of the violence in video games. But I think banning them all together will get people upset and just make them want to get the games more (like how a child that is getting something for xmas who has his present hidden from him will try harder to find it).
I am a seasoned veteran of Counterstrike and I have never once gotten the urge from playing that game to buy a gun and blow someone away. I think its chemical makeup in the brain that triggers these types of reactions...

Will all due respect, I don't think its the chemical buildup at all. I personally blame the parents. I personally thank mine for setting very distinct boundaries on the right and wrong, for disciplining me and most of all teaching me the three most honoured values in life.
Honesty, Humility and Hardwork.
I believe its the home thats responsible for the child. To blame the child directly might be hypocritical, I apologise, for in the end its the child who will bite his mother's ear off when he's on death row. If the child does do violence despite good guidance from his parents, then he has no one to blame but himself. He will not be able to find it in his heart to hate them. This is society's problem or the media's fault, its a human problem and needs to be dealt with.
The law needs to be unbiased in this area and not shift towards awarding parents for gross acts of neglect. Often, that is the case. This is my honest, heartfelt opinion and it will stay that way. Im not saying this is the only way to fix the problem, blame the parents, but am merely pointing out a leading cause and factor in these "videogame related murders". A matter close to my heart and conscience.
If you find this offending I apologise, but even as an Asian brought up in an Asian culture where parents are figures to be respected. I can't help but point them out as the leading cause of problems in this case.

One thing is for certain, if they ever ban violent video games, I will go on a personal crusade to get boxing, martial arts, anything with the slighest hint of violence, banned as well.
I mean, surely if some pixelated violent charcaters are the source of all this evil in this world then all the real stuff has to be banned as well. If not, all those politicians will have to be lined up and me,a real life pacifist, will happily pull the trigger And ban real War as well for a change, hypocrites! See how quickly real death toll figures come down. Oh no, we have to concentrate on isolated cases of teen angst, happy slapping violence. Ever wondered where they really might pick this numbness to violence up, you mother******* asswipe politicians.
And others have picked up on this. I think its about time that those with kids start to take an interest again in what they get up to. Unless they are 18 and over, it's up to the parents to decide what they should play or at least be open to their kids and give them proper values and common sense behaviour tips.
What is this world coming too! Mark my words, we have seen this sort of ideas for censorship before, hmm about 65-68 years ago in this very country I live in right now. It's not just Germany as well, quite a few countries these days seem to want to cut so much into peoples freedom that they will slowly destroy the freedom they tried to create in the first place.
Heard that there was water on Mars, anyone fancy going on a trip?
