    CSS cheaters

Wow. I've been away from CS:S for a while. Now I remembered why I left in the first place. So many f'in cheaters it's ridiculous. I did a search and see no body is even talking about this anymore. Guess cheating is taken for granted. Such lame @ss pussys with no life and clearly no pride. I guess VAC was a total failure.

I searched the web to see what is being done about CSS cheating and found very little. What I did find were bunches of CSS cheater videos on youtube. Many if not all were taken by the cheater himself. I had no idea how these guys were doing it. Now I know. Aimbots, wall hacks, you name it. It's all alive and well and real. I heard these names before now I've seen them in action.

I'll keep looking for a decent server with honest players but in the end I'm sure I'll get frustrated and leave the game again. Too bad a real anti cheat program hasn't been created. When it does, all the good people will come back.

Just thought I'd vent a little.

Many times people call cheats when the other player is just as legit as them. There are varying levels of skills, and just because the shot may look sketchy doesn't technically mean the other player was cheating.

I think people claiming that others cheat is what killed the CS community, not actual cheaters. People are too paranoid these days.

I was playing a fair amount of CS up until a couple weeks ago and with the exception of 1 possible teleporter I never saw anyone I would call a cheater for sure. Sure I met some people who would seemingly blast me as soon as they rounded the corner with a HS.. but then again I did the same quite a bit with the deagle and AK so I find it really hard to call them a cheater.

One of the things I did notice that made me happy was compared to the time i was playing CS 1.6 there were overall almost no accusations of cheating (before hand it was essentially a witch hunt for anyone who got a HS)

Generally i give the person the benifit of the doubt unless I can say for _sure_ that they are cheating, mostly because I myself would hate to be called a cheater when im doing good.

Note also, that many of those videos could be older, and/or done on non-vac secured servers, so they dont really show much about the prevelence of cheating.

It's nowhere near as bad as CS 1.3-1.6 were. Now there were so many damn cheaters in the original CS that I totally stoped playing and never will play again.

I got a friend who has a rented server and I play in there, and a few other decent servers in CSS.

I played the original CS too (maybe 1.1 thru 1.6) and agree it got bad.

In CSS over the last 3 nights I saw plenty of legit cheating. When a guy is 52 and 4 and gets 9 out of 10 headshots from across the map or thru walls, something is wrong. Go to youtube and search on "CSS cheater" and take a look at the videos. Believe me, I've been around a long time and am pretty good at giving people the benefit of the doubt. I'm not paranoid but was only commenting that the cheating continues despite VAC. Even one cheater on a server takes the fun out of it. It's too bad because it's a great game.

Yeah I've seen some of those videos.

The best advice is to maybe rent a server with friends, and stick to playing with friends. It all depends on how many friends you have play CSS, thankfully most of mine do.

The videos don't show anything one way or the other, because they could have been done on non-vac secured servers. Even if they were done on normal legit servers, they still dont show anything in regards to the number of cheaters because I think its around 6k players on usually for CSS.

That said 52:4 is screwy, especially HSing through walls. Best suggestion against this is to join servers with active admins.

One you might want to try out was the last place I was at, Up in Smoke, they have 3 servers, gungame, office, and a custom map one (the custom maps are generally not bad at all).

52 and 4 on a pub is not that uncommon. Hell, I've done better than that on pubs. Remember, there are players who play to win, who rarely play on pubs, and when they do, they simply own the face off everyone. The reason: everyone in pubs is nubs, lol.

Well I don't really agree with you that this kind of score is common but maybe it is where you play. The other thing is that on the 6 servers I have played on there were very few if any noobs so that theory doesn't work with my experience and lastly, owning say from the T spawn with a AWP is one thing but 9/10 headshots (many coming from across the map) with a SMG is not normal.

I followed some of these guys around on ghost cam and they were shooting at people that I couldn't even see on their screen from across the map or in a dark spot...getting headshots one after the other. I hear what you are saying but quite honestly I have no doubt they were cheating and like I said earlier, it only takes one pussy @ss cheater to ruin the game. I'll keep looking for a decent server that I get a good ping on and hope for the best.

Well, I wasn't there so I can't state for sure what I believe to be the case. However, I will say this, in response to your claim that the people you were playing with weren't nubs. If it was a pub, they were 99% nubs. Trust me.

Also, long-range MP5 head-pwn is also not uncommon. It's actually a practice that I tend to apply from time to time.

Well I still play it, but very rarely cuz my comp freezes on CSS. But 1.6 is still a lota fun. As for the cheating, my stand point is leaning more towards people being paranoid rather than actual cheating going on. There probably are many cheaters out there, but this game is now very old, so all the noobs back in 2002 are now all pros. Well that's my take on this anyway.

I've seen only a few REAL wall hackers and aimbots and I have been playing for a few years. I was in 3 clans and when I was on Pub servers killin time I was called a cheater a few times. I actually got bounced from 2 servers for going 75-4 and 60-2. They said I was cheating....LOL...they just kinda sucked I agree that some do cheat, but from what I've seen it's few and far between.

I think I'm to the point now where I can't play online against a bunch of faceless people. I only play in an organized group of people I know.

I gave up on counterstrike 2 years ago...the amount of cheating ( aimbot/wallhack) made the game unplayable. I used to be pretty good at CS too
