i'm mostly indifferent about a console forum. the only reason i'm very very slightly against it is it would take more clicks to read everything from both forums 
anyways, i think it would be a great idea to move gaming help to this forum as someone said earlier(scuttle maybe? i'm too lazy to backtrack ) most gaming help and upcomming games are posted here anyways and the other forums are practically dead. it's not like it will overload the board with traffic.

Heres my suggestion:
Have a single consolidated gaming forum (consolidate the current 3 sub game forums)... and then have one additional "Hot Topic" forum which is dedicated to whatever is hot in gaming at that particular time... ie "PS3/Wii Launch" or "Halo3" or "Bioshock, all platforms"...
my reasoning for this is that the gaming forum usually runs at a good pace. The gaming help and upcoming games forums are slow enough to just consolidate. The only times when the forum gets really muddied up is when a big title is about to come out (remember the 10-20 posts a day we had for Oblivion?) or a new console launch... if all the "hot" threads were in one dedicated forum then normal everyday topics wouldnt be pushed to second page on the main gaming forum.
so basically when a mod notices that many/most threads pertain to a currently popular topic, he can move those threads to the Hot Topic forum and then rename the Hot Topic forum to reflect that
