Help me find this bubble screensaver.
Saw it at a used computer store on one of thier widescreen LCD's but didn't have time to ask them where they got it.
It's not the regular soap bubble ones that are everywhere. This one has different colored bubbles which are transparent as you can see your regualr desktop through them and they pop and respawn.
It was very cool and all I have found so far after 40 minutes of searching are loads of the usual waterfall, space and fish screensavers. Not having much luck finding any good 3d stuff.

It think it may be the Vista bubble screensaver which works with WinXP. Did the soupman get it right?

Unfortunatly now I want a widescreen LCD for 3000 bucks so my free screensaver looks prettier. LOL. Seriously though I saw some on newegg for around 200 bucks. Insanity compared to what the prices were even 2 years ago. I love this hobby!

Haha...$3000 monitor That will probably entail a system upgrade to ran games at a high resolution.
This 42" is $1300 and run at 1920x1080.

I decided I like the big square better then the big rectangle. Plus all the Native Resolution stuff with old games sounded like one big hassle. I found a 22" Mitsubishi Diamond Plus 200 for 50 bucks at the local PC surplus store on Craigslist.

Nice. If you have the space, you can't beat CRT for image quality and price. More power to ya!

Say do you guys know how to edit the file included with those vista screensavers to change the options and where to put the file? If I put the whole file with the wordpad doc and the screensaver itself in C/Windows/System32 it does not show up in the screensaver list. If I take out just the screensaver it shows up.
I can't figure out what values to put in the word document either. Looks something like this:
- NumRibbons [DWORD] int
Self explainatory
- RibbonWidth [DWORD] int
Self explainatory
- CameraFOV [DWORD] int
Self explainatory
I already tried replacing int with a number but nothing happened.

Here's where it gets tricky. You have to go into the registry to make these changes. (do not touch anything else in there since you can mess up your PC) This example is for the bubbles screensaver.
1. In windows, click start, run, and enter regedit.
2. In settingsread.txt it has a path to goto in the registry: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\
CurrentVersion\Screensavers\Bubbles
3. Right click in the Bubbles folder (not screen1 folder) and click new Dword value.
4. On the right, this new file will be shown. Rename it to one of the variables. Eg. Radius
5. Once renamed, right click on file (Radius) and enter a decimal value. Eg 1
You can now preview your changes in Windows screensaver settings. Repeat process for other settings. (separate keys need to be created for each variable)

Do I understand you correctly that you can put several values in the registry and access them through the screensaver? You don't have to go back in the registry every time you want a differnet setting right?
Not doing something right. It's not changing anything with the bubbles. All I can do is go from the normal setting to one bubble if I try and put too much in that registry section. Do you need to delete the default file that's in there? I wouldn't think so.

Yeah, I think you have to go into the registry everytime you want to change a setting. It seems hit and miss though since all the settings don't always work. I don't think you have delete the default file...I didn't. (I got a little confused so I put everything back to default)
