    Post HELP w/ win2k installation

i recently got a win2k CD and just wanted to see what the fuss was all about. i had to reinstall win95(cuz i had winME) to upgrade it.

after several attempts i keep getting a blue screen telling me to check my harddrive for viruses or uninstall any harddrive b/c its not dectecting it or something like that. Anyways.. here are my stats maybe u've ran into the problem before. BTW i did both the upgrade and clean install same problem. during the install it said that it couldnt find the win2k drivers for my Mass Storage Device / PCI Graphics Device.. Seagate Barracuda 30gig/leadtek GeForce2GTS. i tried loading the drivers from the manufactur cd but it didnt find any. any help would be wonderful thanks.

The "Mass Storage Device" that Windows wants a driver for is the Promise controller on your motherboard. There should be a copy of it on the CD that came with your mobo, or you can download it from this site: http://www.asus.com/products/motherb...a7v/index.html

During the Windows 2000 setup, you'll be prompted if you want to install drivers for additional mass storage devices. When you get that prompt, press the appropriate key (F6?), and insert the disk with the driver.

As for the video card, leave it set to Standard VGA until you get the OS installed. Then install the Nvidia Detonator drivers.
