    Dying power supply?

I bought a Antec SmartPower 400W power supply about 10 months ago. When I try to turn on my computer, all the components will blip on and then turn back off. However, when I press the power button again, the computer turns on fine. The problem happens each time I shut down from Windows and turn it on again. I'm worried that it might be the power supply since others seem to have longetivity issues with this particular model. Right now, everything is unplugged except for my hard drive and a couple fans and the problem is still there.

If it the power supply is dying, is SeaSonic still the way to go these days? Computer specs are listed in sig. Thanks .

    Hi:

I am also looking for a ps for my new rig and have done a lot of searching without finding anything yet. Get a ps tester and see if yours is out is the first thing to do, or try anotherone if u have it. If you need another one get on newegg and do a lot of searching and comparing. Read the reviews, they will tell you whats good and whats not.

It all depends on what you wanna spend. If you want Rock Solid PC power & cooling is the best at most levels. Or, perhaps a better value would be any FSP Fortan Source

It all depends... I have Antec Trio 550W and it powers my system in sig just fine. Seasonic is a great brand. So are Enermax, and PC Power & Cooling. I forget other great brands... Fortron is another... OCZ. Just avoid nameless cheap ones.

Thanks for the suggestions. I have a power supply from my old system but I'm reluctant to put it in here (even for a few seconds) since it's an old 350W no name brand. So you guys are certain it's the power supply giving out?
