    LaCie HDD?

I need to get my mother another external HDD so that she can store all of her video projects she's edited. Is there a difference between the ones that say just LaCie and ones that say LACIE Design by F.A. Porsche? I need to get a 500GB-1TB case for storage for video projects and want to know if theres a major difference.. I mainly deal with Western Digital and Seagate so I know almost nothing about LACIE..

    thanks

They are the same feature wise. I believe that LacCie actually buys from lowest bidder for HDDs. Not sure about that though.

I highly recommend the new Seagate FreeAgent drives. They all have a 5 year warranty. Industry first for external HDDs.

I have the LACIE Design by F.A. Porsche drive. It a over price pos. My's now used as a dead weight. I was having problem with it since day one, the buffer write error crap. LACIE service ain't too flash either.
I'll say get something else. Some thing with good service, & long warranty.
