Unhappy Repeated Crashes in wink2k pro

    Heres my specs:
    1ghz AMD t-bird
    Asus A7V
    GeForce2GTS(latest detenator drivers)
    256mb Crucial PC133 CAS3
    30gig Seagate Barracuda
    SoundBlaster Live! Value(win2k pro drivers)
    Logitech Mouseman Plus(latest drivers)
    Microsoft Wave Keyboard

Everything has updated drivers except for my sound card which is running on the drivers that win2k gave it.

    Heres the problem:
I have repeated crashes(screen is still there but everything freezes) when I 1.Right click 2. Switch between tasks 3. switch between menus in Napster. 4. Switching between different stuff period.

It doesnt always happen. But it is getting very repetitive and annoying. Sometimes there will be weird lines around the mouse pointer when it does. Winamp still runs after it freezes, because I can still here the music after it has crashed.

    Hope someone can help.

I don't see a modem in your list. I had a similar problem which was caused by a bad modem.

I had a HSP56K MicroModem which did seem to cause strange lock-ups. It might be worth a try.

I would just reformat and be done with it.

Do you use network reliant programs... cuz win2k will stop respondig if you run a prog over network and the connection becomes unavaliable.

NTFS filesystem is a bit more stable than FAT32 (consider converting... in comandline: convert c: /FS:NTFS )

Win2k is more sensitive about oc'ing so if you have clocked, put your bios to default and try changing options one by one and test!
