Building a new system in Aug, need mobo help
I'm going to build a new Intel Quad Core system, from the ground up, next month.
My big question is on the MOBO. I'm a long time Asus fan. However, from what I can see on their website, they do not have a P35 chipset that supports SLI w/ 2 16x slots (like they do with their NVidia Chipsets)
I read somewhere that the P35 and G33 are supposed to be the new big things in chipsets (have 45mm and DDR3 support), but I can't find one that has two x16 slots for dual Nvidia cards.
Are those boards out yet?

Nvidia allow SLi only on their chipsets so if it's impotent to you get a 680i based motherboard.
P35 is a great chipset, some p35 based motherboards support DDR3 instead of DDR2 but I don't see it as an advantage.

P35 simply doesn't support SLI. It's not ASUS's fault, it just doesn't. It also doesn't support 2x16x PCI-E slots, period. Not enough PCI-E lanes in the chipset.
If you want a SLI system, you may have to wait until fall when nVidia releases their new series of chipsets...unless you want the current, old stuff, that they are selling.
