Hanns G 19" JW199DP 7600GT Can't run FEAR

I get a black screen when I try to run the FEAR multiplayer Demo, I've tried changing some resolutions etc no luck, it has 5ms, plays cod fine. Any thoughts? I've upgraded my drivers. Got rid of codecs. Please help it used to play on my old crt.

Well I did some research and am happy to hear that you took pre-emptive measures and tried uninstalling the codec packs. However, might I refer you to some real experts ?

These guys are definitely more well positioned to help you. In the meantime, I'll search the internet and try to grab some more solutions for you.

You could also try lowering the refresh rate of your monitor or turning off Vertical Sync, at least until the problem is troubleshooted. Monitors go black when the refresh rate is set too high. It's normal, rather than an unexpected state the monitor decides to play safe. Those are just random suggestions however.

I'm betting it's to do with the refresh rate. But I'm not experienced in game troubleshooting.

did you reinstall? it does seem like a refresh rate issue or maybe your crt was running at a higher resolution than your lcd
