q6600 G0 reeeally nice!
Put together my new build. Gigabyte DS3R. 2GB Crucial Ballistix 6400 (4-4-4-12 although I don't think that's what BIOS did).
Was doing 29C at stock frequency of 2.4 ghz. Using thermalright ultra 120 Extreme.
Up to 38C at 3.4 ghz (425x8).
No temp changes under load!!! Was playing Company of Heroes and nothing.
CPU-Z is being funky. Reports 1.328 Vcore. BIOS and Coretemp read 1.275. cpuz also reports a 6 multiplier instead of 8?! And the RAM is all funked up.
But pretty good start overall, looks like these babies really can push 3.6 on air (I need to figure out what to do with RAM, maybe I can get higher).

No temp changes under load is impossible. even LN2 shows temp change under load (from -150 to -148 :P ). But hey yeah that is good. I hope you are measuring with coretemp ?

yes, coretemp.
Question...if I went to 8GB of RAM, how bad would my overclock suffer if at all?
EDIT: About the Load, I guess it wasn't much of a load...about 30% up from 7. I mean same temp as in 2-3 C higher.

since you are only oc-ing the memory 25mhz, i think you will be fine. Noramally if you have 2 sticks of ram oc-ed very high you have to be 'lucky' to get the same ram just as high. But that's not the case with you i think.

You need to make sure you get Core Temp .95 or later. Also make sure the tjunction reads at 100C, some programs report it erroneously as 85C as it was with the dual core models. If it is reading at 85C, add 15 to your temp readings to arrive at the actual number.
As for the memory, if you can get your hands on a matched set of four 2GB sticks, you should be alright at 3.4GHz. If you want insane bus speed, you should probably look elsewhere. There aren't too many 4x2GB kits out there and most are DDR2-667 or DDR2-800 CL5. Not exactly the best overclocking stuff.

Ya, those numbers sound very odd. I just got a G0 Q6600 myself, and I'm idling around 35* C with a ThermalTake Big Typhoon cooler (I need more case fans), and when I put it under serious load the temps almost immeadiately jump up to around 60*C. This is at 3.0 Ghz (which is enough for me).
You should definitely see a big difference under load.
