Win 2k Quake 3 refresh questions...

I got the Nvidia win2k refresh utility form tweakfiles.com however, when i set my resolution and refresh rate... the fps in quake 3 STILL only go as high as 60.. .. not NEARLY the 90-100 fps I could achieve in Win 98..

what am I doign wrong?

also whern I turn off Gl extensions everythign becomes VERY smooth.. however once and a while the fps will dip to 42 exactly..

any ideaS?

Do you have OpenGL's VSync disabled in the display properties? That's all you need to do.
