Kevin Rose wasn't happy with the dumbing down of the channel so he asked for his release. He had 10,000 dollars saved up and at the time was dating Sara Lane. His plan was to start up Systm and really digg was more of a side project. Sara was not impressed that he left his job at G4 and apparently broke up with him. Digg became really popular and the rest is history.

Sara actually started dating Brendan Moran and they both quit G4 when they got married. For their honeymoon they traveled around the world. I always liked Sara but when she quit I think she posted something to the effect of asking for donations from her fans which I thought was over the line.

So anyway Sara came back, apparently her and Brendan divorced and she went to work again for Revision. But Revision laid her off last month.

I need to get out more.......

Olivia is amusing but I gave up that channel package.. the show is pretty much a waste of time. And to think that SAME show used to Screen Savers with Leo Laporte and Patrick Norton. That show actually started to demystify computers for me but it and the channel went downhill big time. Soon as they fire Leo Laporte, zooom, downhil fast.

I liked tech tv when it was serious. All people want to do now is portray one big party and thats not how life is supposed to be. But i guess they do that because they found out americans are too stressed out all the time.

The problem with G4 is it seems like they make all their decisions based on the almighty dollar and not whether or not it actually fits in with their theme.

They tried to start off as a gaming channel, but really, the only show I see that has anything to do with gaming is X-Play. AotS does, tangentially, but it's more like Maxim magazine than anything else imo; kind of a full lifestyle thing for horny young men wasting time. I swear practically the whole thing is just showing grainy, crappy YouTube clips and interspersing them with Olivia Munn doing something sexual.

Other than that, nothing fits in the mold; Ninja Warrior's only (EXTREMELY tangential) connection is that it's made in Japan, and many games are made there also. Cops? Cheaters? Arrested Development? The Man Show? Where is the common theme?

They have some shows that people are (apparently) watching, but there is absolutely no brand loyalty there. If they lost X-Play or AotS, they would go completely under.

I think it's telling that Morgan Webb is really the most decent woman on the station, and she's not really anything to write home about. Something about her is just built weird imo, I've never really seen the appeal. She does have good enough charisma and delivery, though. Kristen Holt is probably the best looking, but she has such little stage presence it is ridiculous (WAY too obvious that she's just reading everything off cue cards). Layla Kayleigh is hit or miss; she's basically the only one that has life outside her specific G4 show + G4 website, as she hosts or co-hosts a number of different things, but on G4 she makes it a little too obvious sometimes that she's just there for the paycheck. Olivia Munn could be great if the writers didn't make her do stupid "airhead sexpot" stuff all the time.
