    SLI and fan speeds

Recently I switched to Vista so that I could run two 8800 GTSs in SLI and still run dual monitors. I've been using rivatuner for awhile now to set levels of fan speeds in relation to card temps, but have run into a problem since using SLI all the time now. When GPU 0 is selected to set up the schedulers and whatnot, everything is fine, however when I switch to GPU 1 suddenly I get corrupt fan profile messages. If I go ahead and setup all the ranges for fan speed and just ignore these messages, inevitably one of the cards is ignored and the fan speeds don't kick in (basically whichever isn't selected in rivatuner). This is very annoying as Empire: Total War overheats one of the cards (whichever is failing to obey the fan profiles) within minutes of starting to play.

I've read about a few workarounds using two different types of controllers (ntune/riva combined) but couldn't really grasp how to implement that. If anyone could help I'd really appreciate it.

I'm using the most current nvidia drivers (182.50) as well as the most current riva (2.24).

Don't have a good answer for you, but a work-around. You can use http://www.evga.com/precision/ to set fan speed manually.
