Printing Spooler Error (Vista)
I just got a new printer (Canon PIXMA iP4600) and every single time I try to install it I get this wonderful error:
"Processing cannot be continued because the Print Spooler service has been stopped. Restart the computer to start the Print Spooler service and then try again."
Every solution I've found on google so far has failed. This includes going through the registry and deleting all past printers (only had an old Canon i960); restarting the spooler service (which I don't even seemingly have under services (well, I have a Spooler service but not a Print Spooler and trying to access the properties ends in an error)); as well as other options.
I have vista ultimate sp1.
Any thoughts? Is there some place to download and reinstall the spooler from scratch?

turn on your printer spooler in services and set it to auto start

Great White Shark
Control Panel -> Printers -> Right Click in the Windows and go "Server Properties" -> Drivers tab -> Remove all Printer Drivers listed here
Reboot, start over installing your printer with latest drivers.
If that doesn't work try scrolling all the way down to the bottom of this page to see some other fixes.

This is for XP but I've read others had success with it with Vista.
