Datsyuk is out tonite. Which means he's probably out tomorrow. Draper is out, though I think that's kind of a scratch. Wings are better off with the Grand Rapids boys. I think Detroit is going to find it very tough with the injuries and no time to rest.

Maybe, but they did their job yesterday and took the opener. Detroit usually finds a way. Hopfully when they win the cup we can all watch Gary Bettman cry publicly.

Could the announcers love the penguins any more? really?

on detroits first 2 goals instead of talking about how great they were.. the first thing out of the d' bag's mouths were "and right here the wings shoulda got a penalty"

I mean we get it you love the Fing Penguins but at least TRY to be impartial.....

If you think the network guys are bad, try being stuck watching 6 games a year against them via FSN Pittsburgh. Center Ice guys like me usually get stuck watching the other team's commentary due to some disagreement with Comcast (who owns the Flyers) but Steigerwald is bar none the worst PBP guy in the whole league.

Pens getting beat by four Grand Rapids Griffins in the lineup.....and lessee, they account for half of the Wing goals so far. Saaaaaweeeet! But ya know, the Wings are soooo lucky. Really, they don't deserve to be up 2-0. Gawd I wanna puke on the talking heads.

Unbelievably, missed game 7. But was VERY happy with the end result.

Loved to see the look of dejection on the faces of Detroit's players... especially Hossa.

And loved that they captured it in Joe Louis... that the fans were booing as the Pens were in jubilation!

Detroit was due for this type of crushing defeat.

I think this year most people chose to cheer for a team because of hatred for the opponent. Obviously I wanted the wings to win but that's how it goes.

At least we got a fine series to watch, and the officiating (while flawed at times) was better than I've seen all year. And yeah, wth Hossa.

Now on with trades and free agency!!

Pronger was a huge addition to the Flyers I think.

That may end up getting them the cup.

They did have to give up a LOT of future for him though...

Losing Sbisa hurts a bit, I really liked the kid. He still wasn't ready for top-six duty though. I don't even care about the picks; two late firsts could turn out to be nothing in this league, and either way they wouldn't be on this team for years. And we had to get rid of Lupul's contract.

Gotta give to get, and Philly certainly did get! Holmgren looks to win NOW and worry about lost potential later.

Yea, 1st round picks... in particular late 1st round picks can easily be washouts. This league is hard as hell to draft for. I for one have never minded giving up picks to get a player like that.

Was happy with the Oil's 1st round selection. Apparently, the fastest guy in the draft. Looks to be YEARS away from making the big show though. Oilers should take their time with that guy.

Hoping that some of the young Oilers bounce back from their sophmore slump. Friend told me that rumour had it that some of the young stars on the Oilers enjoyed the night life in Edmonton a little too much.

In which case, I think the hiring of Pat Quinn is even better. I think that even with good coaches, the players lose their focus over time. MacTavish was probably at the end of his line there. A new coach like Quinn should be able to light a fire and get players motivated again.

Look forward to getting Vish back as well.
