    Firefox 3.5 available for download!

Apparently it's really fast with Javascript.

I'll put it on my test box and give it a workout. I hope they fixed many of the bugs that plagued version 3.0.x.
I see that FF copied the IE method of opening a new tab. That's a good move because it frees up space on the toolbar.

    *edit*
FF 3.5 is very slow on sites such as cnn.com and reuters.com. I rolled back to FF 3.0.11 and the sites are responding normally (<2 second load time).

So far (three hours) it looks good.

All the Add-Ons that I use updated themselves and are compatible.

One Add-Ons (Get Mail Plus) refused to load. I Uninstalled the version that I had, and downloaded the latest version from the author site and it works well too.

The funny thing is that I do not see any advandege with the 3.5 release.

I did a clean install of FF 3.5 and it seems to run faster.
Something must have glitched when I did the direct update.
So far its has not crashed. That alone is worth it.

I'll chime in that the helpdesk system we use runs much faster in 3.5. However, Ubuntu still doesn't have a release package available. I'm running on rc4.

That's weird. I obsess about clean installs myself, I guess now I actually have a reason to.

FF 3.5 is having rendering issues with this site. Notice text in some places where icons should be.

    Mine renders OK.

How ever it does not matter what I set as a Home page when the browser starts, it always comes with a Blank Page at Stat.

I tried it on two unrelated computers (Win 7 RC), and it behaves the same.

It came pretty fast out of the RC, maybe they didn't thoroughly test that. I still haven't installed it, but I'll let you guys know how mine works once I do.

That is it I had it with the 3.5 Quirkiness.

I decide to go back to Version 3011.

For the fun it I tried to install version 30010 on top of 3.5.

Why 3010 ? Because that is the only offline full file that I have.

To my surprise it installed very smooth, then I used the online updated to to 3011.

In most cases when you try an older version of software on top of a newer one it would refuse to Install, or at t least will generate some kind of warning.

Nah, Not in this case. It like they prepare the software for such event.

The New Old installation works thus far OK.
