Oh man, this is bad news!

Hope someone else picks up from where vert's gonna leave out......and btw, vert, thanks for the effort thus far. We would not have the team going for this long w/o you, and here's hoping everything's coming up roses for you with whatever that's going on with your life.

And IF the fire of the team site should be extinguished, it's been fun for me as well....though I do bellyache about it from time to time......that, and my lazy ruts.

OK, did a run of '05 and '06 just for the heck of it, here's my system spec -

cpu: Intel QX9650 @3.88ghz

Jeez, with two 5870s you should be able to blow my score away with ease. No OC on vidcards? Something you aren't telling us?

CPU bottleneck, CPU plays a part in score for '06 and Vantage. I' been beaten by single HD5870 & OC'ed i7's

Yup, CPU counts and Hyper-Threading helps too. I get a better score with HT on.

I see an I7 socket 1366 or I9 in your future

Nope, kinda tired of paying more for better score, like vert'd said. For me, now that I've mellowed with age

, it's about the gaming experience, it's about something that elevates gaming for me....and I see that with EyeFinity. I have the excellent Benq FP241W and have gotten 2x Benq G2400WD (for the rimmerchant gaming experience.

) I have a feeling tri-monitor gaming's gonna get me all excited about gaming again.

OZ, remeber when you couldn't beat my '03 score with your dual SLi setup? Pretty hard when you're up against 3-4 GPU's in CFX mode, eh? Well, I ran '03 just for the hell of it, expect to NOT better my quad-CFX HD3870 X2's, but I was so wrong, pure GPU POWAH for '03 as you'd said, and these cards have 'em in spades -

Time to start OCing that CPU a bit more. Use the settings I posted for you in the other thread.

Edit: You should be able to hit 4.0 easily ...

Its getting cold here and i had to turn the heat on and it and my cpu don`t like each other.
