I don't really know that I'm even going to spend much time farming in New Haven anyway, just thought it was something interesting that I found. If I take advantage at all I'll probably just do it long enough to get a new shield (since I've been using my current one for forever even though it's not all that great because I've gotten terrible shield drops) and a good revolver (because I like those a lot for some reason but, again, have only found pretty crappy ones).
Once you get to the second playthrough they will be plentiful...but revolvers are pretty useless it gets way hard!
I feel bad that I've only played 10 minutes. The hype made me buy it, but I just have no motivation to play it now. Though most of that is due to all the other games I'm playing.

and a whole lot of lovin..
Like I said, I just have this propensity to want everything for sale in the store. It's a HUGE draw of these types of games for me. Games like this, Diablo, and Titan Quest really just suck me in because I LOVE getting and trying out tons and tons of new things. Different strokes for different folks. Also probably the reason my game backlog is so damn huge.

I support your completionism. Man, have you ever played any game in the Disgaea series? If you're the type of person who likes getting all the stuff and finding all the endings, etc, those games will swallow your soul.

This is the same with me. I have fired it up once since I started playing Torchlight.
There is just too much I don't enjoy about Borderlands or that I feel is missing. For example I think the itemization could have been done so much better. I think I would have enjoyed it better if the guns were handled more as individual parts such as new scopes, silencers, etc. Constantly finding new guns that were only slightly better just didn't do it for me in this game.
I think the other things is not being able to use guns until certain levels. It should have been based more on skill with the weapon class versus anything.
Currently Playing: PC: BFBC2, MOH, COD: Black Ops 360: nothing

I've put 27 hours in and I'm still enjoying it. I haven't purchased a whole lot as I've been happy with all of the weapons I've been finding. I've been getting plenty of weapons that are 2 or 3 levels above my own so I've been more than happy with the pickups as well.
Borderlands is fun. I feel like the weapon thing is sort of false advertising. Yeah, I've got shotguns that can cause explosions or shoot rockets, but they all look about the same. I agree that the parts should vary much more, rather than counting 40 different quality weapons of the same name and style 40 different guns.

Found a level 24 Eridian weapon yesterday, which is like an alien blaster that shoots balls of energy. Fire rate is like an SMG or combat rifle, and it has infinite ammo, though you still have to "reload" in a way because once you fire it for too long it has to cool down.
Anxious to try it out more, just found it before I quit for the night. Apparently levelling up your proficiency in Eridian weapons lowers the recharge time so that would be worth working towards.

Played the bejeezus out of the first one, then had the common sense to stay away from the others lest I disappear from the earth.
I actually have Disgaea 3 but haven't played it yet.

I did a few ini tweaks yesterday (turned off intro movies, FOV and 3rd person mode primarily) and when I loaded the game it had reset all my video settings and wiped ALL of the controls mapping, meaning the only thing I could do in game was mouselook; no shooting, moving, opening menus, NOTHING. Had to alt-tab and then force the program closed.
Found a pretty abusable trick in New Haven that makes me wonder what I've missed in the past -
Spoiler
If you load a game, go around the back of Scooter's and get on his roof. There is a weapon chest there. You can just keep quitting and reloading and picking that up. I only did it twice to make sure it worked, and iirc I racked up about 20k each time from selling the stuff.
::edit::
Apparently there are two chests in New Haven within easy reach of the spawn point. Guy sent me this vid, but I can't watch it right now so I'm not sure what exactly it has; I'm assuming both, but he mentioned that he only usually hits up one.
A few of my friends were discussing Borderlands today and we realized we all had our settings reset after this past weekend as well. Did anyone else here have issues with your settings and/or bindings resetting either on Sunday or Monday?

I think they released a patch on one of those days, so maybe that was it? Mine only reset after I screwed with the .ini file, and I'm guessing it's because I either mapped the FOV twice (to F10 and F11 and again to W so it wouldn't always reset).
Also of note - I finally watched that video I posted earlier in the spoiler, and there's not just two chests, there's like 6. :laughing

Daylight savings time for some reason messed with the settings.
