lol I was just about to ask if Walmart Canada was gonna have similar deals.... and then remembered Black Friday in Canada is.... just another Friday in November. Canadian Thanksgiving was 6 weeks ago.

I don't want any of that stuff anyways, I don't bother with 720p TVs.

Its been a few years, when i would get up early and go try and get a good place in line so i could get one of the specials, i got lucky and one year. The other times i ended up with rain checks, which most were discontinued, or they never restocked it. That is the way i remember it, so i don`t know if they changed the way they do things. I might try online this year.

    :sigh:

Whatever happened to the promise of a 40 or 42" LCD 1080p display for $500 on black friday of last year?

We are getting even worse deals this year. I know the economy sucks, but doesn't that mean they should be offering better deals?

    /end dumb consumer rant.

Well Target and Wal-mart have a 32" TV for under 250 bucks. That is the best deal on a TV this Black Friday even if the brands and that special.

The experts are saying that Retailers have had time to adjust their inventories to bad economy levels....Sales aren't going to be too exciting this year.

I hate Black Friday with every fiber of my being. Seven years of retail, and more particularly, three years at Circuit City did that for me.

Honestly though, even if I celebrated Christmas, Black Friday deals are the gift that says, "I was too cheap to get you a thoughtful gift, so I bought whatever cheap crap they were horking on Black Friday."

Then again, I think Black Friday represents the true spirit of Christmas - a big, greedy, money fueled circus.

Dirty secrets of Black Friday 'doorbusters'

    http://money.cnn.com/2009/11/20/news...rets/index.htm

    From article:
A quick scan through a few of this year's Black Friday circulars show quantities as low as a "minimum of 5 per store" on some models of large plasma and HDTVs and popular brands of home appliances such as a washer-dryer pair.

Should Black Friday deal hunters feel cheated? Yes they should, say some retail experts.

"It's a sleazy practice," said Craig Johnson, retailing expert and president of retail consulting group Customer Growth Partners.

"I am old school," said Johnson. "If a retailer is advertising a juicy deal and they are not prepared to have in sufficient quantity, don't advertise it. Or give consumers a raincheck."
    and...

Edgar Dworsky, a consumer advocate and editor of Consumer World, agreed with Johnson.

"C'mon guys. Give me a break," said Dworsky. "How can you be the size of a retailer like Sears and only get a minimum of five per store, yet devote big space in your circular to advertise that deal?
I have to fully agree with this.

If you can't have solid quantity of product at one store like a TV slashed 40%, do not sell it.

I really need a new TV. And that means I really need a new console. Which means I really need some games for said console. And I need a new couch. Man, I hate Black Friday.

I used to own a nice tower, but then it was too expensive to upgrade consistently. And I only play Age of Empires 2: The Conquerors DEATHMATCH. And that doesn't need a lot of power (PM me if you want to get in some games). So now I own a MacBook, but I like to think of myself as a well-informed Apple convert who still uses Windows sometimes.
I like the internet. So I have this www.tarentinos.com for wallpapers that I make since it is a strange obsession of mine. How wonderful.

TOOO much to get on a Black Friday. You can't be at a few places at once and expect to still get that one super deal.

Just buy one thing and wait until the next Black Friday shows up
