You people have short memories, it happened just last year in the 2008 season
How bout the Chargers of last year, they finished 8-8 and it was good enough to win the AFC West division and earn them a playoff birth.
Not only that, but they played the 12-4 Colts in the first round and defeated them in OT!
I'll never forget last season, Chargers make the playoffs at 8-8 and the Patriots finished 11-5 and missed the playoffs, doesn't seem very fair but I guess that's just part of life.

I don't care much about the Pro Bowl, but Desean Jackson became the first player to win a start in 2 positions, kick returner and wideout.
Also, Sheldon Brown received his yearly snub, but Asante Samual made it again. A shame fans only look at stats and familiar names when voting

Doh!
I'd blame the loss of short term memory on pot... 'cept that I don't smoke it anymore.
Guess that it has to be senility now.

Yea. Doesn't happen often, but every once in a while a misjustice is done in the NFL with this. The division winner having a worse record than a team that misses a wildcard spot.
Used to be that a wildcard team didn't have a hope in hell of advancing in the playoffs. That home field advantage was everything. Maybe it's just me, but it seems that homefield doesn't make a win a lock like it used to. Seems to be a lot of upsets now.

Now its whos hot at the end. I think its because teams are more evenly matched then they used to be. The 12-4 teams just had a lot more talent than the 9-7 teams. Now the top talent in the league is spread out over virually every team, so the team that is playing there best football at the end has a great shot, regardless of record.
I think teams like Minnesota and New Orleans are in trouble simply because they played there best football several weeks ago. San Diego and Philly are both red hot and have all the momentum. Teams like Dallas and New England, while they don't have the long streaks, seem to have caught fire lately.

Broncos needed a win...and instead stunk up the joint and lost by 20
Lions finish the third straight year ranked dead last in defense yards and points allowed.
Jim Zorn will get the axe tomorrow.

Can't believe the Broncos/Chiefs game!
Geez confidence is so important in sports. Seemed like the Broncos completely lost theirs half way through the season.

Good; Seattle will draft at 6 and 14 as a result. We honestly need about five first round picks.

Feel bad for Colt McCoy, Texas fans, and college football fans in general.
What could have been an awesome game wasn't.
I couldn't care less who ended up winning or who would have. Just a shame.
