    Best MW2 "build"

Past couple days I've been hanging out around the house and finally started getting into MW2's multiplayer aspect... and have found myself liking it more every time I play it. It's taken me a few days but I'm finally starting to get the hang of the maps and the pace and I'm actually started to do better than < 1:1 kill-death ratio! Right now I think I'm only level 23 or 24, and I know that class layouts vary based on the map and your playing style, but I was wondering what some basic builds were that are pretty good?

Right now I'm a huge fan of the M4. I think its current setup is Bling (Holographic sight w/ grenade launcher) + Stopping Power Pro and something else Pro (one of the basics you get in the beginning). Secondary is the SPAS-12 shotgun (almost too powerful IMO). I'm definitely not the sniping type and haven't fooled around with too many other weapons. In fact alot of my builds are basically w/ the same perks but different weapons. I jump back and forth alot between the M4 and the UMP45. Just depends on the map.

IW certainly added alot more atmosphere to this sequel than in the first MW. Actually had to stop and watch as a predator missile erupted in front of me and hit a fire hydrant causing water to shoot in the air. And seeing the stealth bomber flyover on the map where you are on the rooftops was pretty badass!

You can make pretty much anything work as long as you learn the maps. Only thing that is pretty much irreplaceable is Ninja Pro. Other than that will learn what guns (smgs & grenade/rocket launchers) need scavenger instead of bling. If you like sprinting make sure you have lightweight on ( quick aim after sprint ). I found that patience > everything else. I myself could not bring myself to play how I had to to have a good k/d ratio.

I agree with you, man. This game is awesome on multiplayer. I love those predator missles !

I have 5 custom classes. Hmmm...my fav is the ACR assualt rifle, AUG scope and
noob toob ( nade launcher ).
I also love the AUG , makes sure you get this gun with a red dot scope...it's a bad-*** gun.I've taken out a whole room with that bad-boy !

I also have a sniper class as well.

The M16 is fun, but I'm having a tough time making the FAL work for me.

For perks, I tend to use ninja, bling, bullet penetration and I love the new improved final stand ! If you survive long enough, you get back up and stay in the game.
Just this am, I got hit , and was laying on the floor. I took out 3 guys , then stood up ( and got shot ).

I pretty much only play hardcore team deathmatch now. I havetn really tried much else.

MW2 is such an utter disgrace to PC gamers I'm disgusted each time I hear about it.

No dedicated servers for the PC? No deal, IW created a enemy of mine when they did this.

I'd play more things on PC if my rig were up to spec. Haven't updated it for quite a few years now. 360 does more than enough

Played a little more today. I'm definitely starting to figure out which maps I hate and which maps I like. Can't stand the sniping maps. In fact I just can't stand sniping in general. Very satisfying to go up and knife one while they are prone Had alot of BS moments in the game as of late... where I was sure I fired off a few rounds before I died but I'll watch the killcam and it looks like I didn't do anything.

Thats the lag at work, it will drive you nuts. And yes the campers are bad. You should play the BC2 demo, it is like MW2 but you can just blow the snipers up with rockets.

I think what you are describing is simply lag. Your killcam is catching the action sans lag.

Must be lag on their side since I'm consistently playing w/ the super green 5 bars... and I'm usually always the host as well I've noticed. Guess my connection is that good I need to remember to stop trying to shoot people point blank when I suddenly come across them rounding a corner and just remember to knife. I've died like 10 times from that

Most of the time, when peeps vote out a map, it's a sniper map.
Personally, I love them ! I love hiding somewhere, with a claymore nearby to protect me. Sniping is an awesome skill !
My fav map of all is "underpass" with all that rain and lightning , looks amazing, with so many places to hide. I usually do very well on that map.

Uggg..sounds like a camp fest which I hate.

I like how in BC2 camping will eventually get you killed since a tank roles by blowing every thing up every 4 mins.

I do like camping a lot, I'll admit.
Between MW2 and BC2 , which one feels more realistic ?

I recommend using all of the kits and unlocking the Pro version of them...all except Sitrep. I just focus on one thing on each kit and switch through so I don't get bored. Once you've unlocked the Pro versions you get some nice bonus XP to help you level up as you're doing it and you know how well they work.

After all was said and done, I ended up loving and ACR (silencer or grenade launcher) with sleight of hand (faster reloading and faster aiming down the sight), stopping power, and the 3rd perk doesn't matter as much. Steady Aim sometimes, Commando sometimes...whatever.

There are so many good choices and weapons though, just play with them all because you'll wind up with some bonus xp trying them out anyway.

One tip to remember is that care package killstreaks don't count towards your streaks. A good combo to use is Predator Missle -> Harrier Strike -> Chopper Gunner. Then you can go for Harrier Strike -> Chopper Gunner -> Nuke.

I'm going to assume your playing core right now. Didn't seem like you enjoyed hardcore with me too much. My favorite setup:
Scar silenced (I can use the iron sites really well on the Scar for some reason)
Stingers (to take down enemy killstreaks)
Scavanger Pro (This is an absolute necessity in core)
    Stopping Power Pro
    Ninja Pro
    Killstreaks= UAV, Predator, Harrier

I hated sniping on my first couple prestiges, but now I can't get enough of it. I'll even snipe on Scrapyard now!
    edit: For Hardcore:
    ACR Red Dot sight
    Spas 12 Grip
    Sleight of Hand Pro
    Hardline Pro
Ninja Pro or Steady Aim Pro
    Killstreaks= Predator, Harrier, Chopper Gunner
