Bioshock 2 in less than 30 mins...

Thats when I'll be home and can fire it up...

I actually called my wife and walked her through starting the steam install once I saw it was given the green light this morning...

    Mass Effect can wait!

I've been quite wary of it since it isn't being handled by anyone from the Bioshock 1 team... let me know what you think!

The director is Jordan Thomas, the designer of Fort Frolic from the original.

I'm not sure if I like it yet. It seems about the same so far, except you play as a big daddy of course.
Dont get me wrong bioshock was a great game, and I see they didnt mess with success.
Graphically it runs off the Unreal engine, so framrates are good and the game looks descent as well.
I have only played it for about 30 mins.

I'm in about 2 hours. And the story is as twisted and as well done as the first one.

Kotaku's review called the sequel better then the original. It's not as ground breaking, but the new gameplay mechanics and story are much better the the original.

MP was reported as being generic and so-so. The single player is where its at.

Yeah the story is damn good. And playing protect the little sister from the slicers while she harvests is pretty intense.

I love the trap rivets and the .50 cal minigun you get.

I was (bio) shocked as well! The review says there is less of a twist and just more a deeper characterization of the main player and the supporting cast. Most of it is told through old audio dairies which I was a fan of from the first game.

They also mentioned that their is much more plasmid cross over in terms of being able to mix them up for cool effects and bonus damage. Traps also play a MUCH bigger role and new hacking mechanics are much better then the previous plumbing system.

I think they also said you could embue your plasmids with your weapons but it wasn't really clear. Wurm, can you clarify that?

    You bastard.

I looked for it at Mediamarkt an hour ago, but they didn't have it. Maybe I'll find it downtown on Friday.
