do you have an intergrated graphics chip on the motherboard? before, anyone says that all laptops have integrated graphics, i mean is it an intel (for example) graphics chip (that has video memory which shares with system ram) and not an nividia, ati etc. if you do, you usually set the amount of video ram in the bios. if you could do it in windows before, then i suspect its a driver issue.

    Question

Yeah in windows 98 i am able to set how much system ram to use for video and graphics...by right clicking on the desktop goin to properties and then to settings and then advance and then to the Memory tab...and it gives you the option there...but after I installed Windows XP I notice I wasnt able to select how much anymore it automatically put the amount to 4 MB the smallest amount.

    Thnx,
