well, i finally got the preload working. i think steam just needed to update like 2 days later even though i'd been clicking on find updates and restarted a million times. they better hope this works for me, because i've been on the fence about this game because the lack of dedicated servers. sucks it's still only 15% off, but it's to be expected. cod4 only dropped in price like twice ever until mw2 came out.

Actually, I like it a lot.

Shift wasn't bad; certainly a hundred times better than any of the previous games in the series released last decade, but nowhere near as good as the earlier entries. Hot Pursuit 2 was the last true Need for Speed game.

Most Wanted was awesome. Hot Pursuit 2 on PS2 was sweet, Hot Pursuit 2 on PC was not sweet.

I would agree that Most Wanted isn't bad, but I wouldn't call it awesome. And I absolutely agree that Hot Pursuit 2 on PS2 was the only good one of the batch. That is what you get when have one dev team working on the PS2 version and another working on every other platform.

I bought it awhile back on a different Steam sale, it's fairly fun and probably worth $5. It reminds me of the old Smash TV game, you have a lot of enemies coming at you from all directions, and you run them over while shooting them with various weapons/upgrades.

The camera controls are kind of irritating and take awhile to get used to and/or set up to your liking, and the game isn't all that long, but hey for $5 you can't expect too much and if you are in the mood for some quick zombie killing action then it's a fun game

I have hopes that MoH will be be thoroughly MWized and thus suck less, dare it even be great... after MW2 (multiplayer issues, single player was very enjoyable) there is not a whole lot a game has to do to be more accepted by comparison. I will be waiting for reviews before buying but I am very interested.

Exactly, the only reason why I bought BFBC2 is because of MW2 **** up with dedicated servers. Seriously after experiencing the bugs and problems wih BF2 (when it first came out) I was done with EA. Then Activision ****ed up.

so steam fails.
i d/l the mw2 demo and it's in freaking german. so i deleted all content, switched to an east coast server for d/l and made sure my language selection was set to english and it was still in german when i d/l it again. -___-
i give up.

I wonder if you download call of duty 2 in german, they win the war instead =o - Alternate ending special!

All the commandos games for $4.99. I remember they were pretty fun, but doubt they hold up with games like company of heroes out.

They're in a different league, though. Commandos was all about squad-based stealth gameplay, CoH is an RTS.

I made it to about level 3 in the first game and then it was just too much pussyfooting around for my tastes. I just don't have the patience for stealth games. I am usually good for three levels/missions and then I am all like:

"Lets Roooooooooooock!"
