I'd say there is a very large learning curve but the ranking system works nicely so it isn't a steep curve. I suggest starting off playing Space Marines for a few games as they're the easiest to handle if you're completely inexperienced... they're also completely badass. FOR THE EMPEROR!!

I haven't played competitively since before the big re-balance patch (the one that put more of an emphasis on t1) so much of that curve is in front of me again.

EDIT: Oh, and playing the campaign will not prepare you for multiplayer in any way.

New deal King Arthur 66% off. Actually looks interesting. From what I've gathered it is like Medieval Total War but with quests and fantasy (spells and stuff).

Yeah, that's what I'm thinking too. I've got the demo downloading for now.

    http://www.psychologyofgames.com/201...steam-bundles/ interesting read.

Oh, and I think when I get home tonight I'm getting King Arthur. The more I read about the game last night and watched some vids the whole morality side of gameplay, upgradable units, time period, being able to ransom knights you dislike, selecting wives to 'buff' your knights by giving them bonuses, etc really add a different element to just a strategy game.

    Then..I found this article:

    http://pc.ign.com/articles/106/1062612p1.html

Now THAT is really interesting..playing Richard the Lionheart on his crusade with this game engine, so for $14, I'm going to get the game with the DLC, but no crusaders (that was their first game and apparently was not well done).

I played the demo. Seems pretty good. I don't care much for those types of games though. I doubt I will buy it.

SupCom2 for 11 bucks. Is this game worth that price?

I already own the game. I could never get into it. It seems very generic to me. The battles can get really intense though, which really does call for a lot of CPU power. I'd play a demo first before purchase if it exists.

Is it multithreaded capable? If so, it's always fun to see how those games hit a modern quad core.

My first thought when I saw that SupCom 2 was on sale was "they already released SupCom 2?"

I didn't actually like the SC2 demo but for $11 I bought it anyway. Should be fun to get a few games in assuming anyone is actually playing.

I want to say yes. I remember looking at the benchmarks before and seeing how having a quad CPU did help the framerates.
