    360 slim

So I bought one, and I love it, its silent.

And since I use my 360 primarily to watch .MKV blue ray rips and netflix streams, I'm much much happier.

And the kid is happy to have his own 360 as well since he inherited the old one.

Wait, the 360 plays MKVs now? How good? 720p only or will it do 1080p? Will it accelerate everything or does it need stuff to be like [email protected]? I have an older 360 sitting around, I could use it for something.

Not natively, but TVersity will transcode to WMV and stream 720p and 1080p no problem.

Ah, right, so it's the same as how I was doing it last year. I thought maybe something had changed.

If I only waited to get a new 360. I had to replace my last one with an arcade unit when it broke during the holiday game rush cycle.

I traded in my launch system and the new 360 S is quieter, even with games installed. With my Jasper unit and installed games there is a noticeable hum, not so with the 360 S. Though it probably has more to do with the giant fan on the 360 S vs. the older units.

Looking to get one as well, as my early gen 360 has no HDMI port.

I also like the built in WiFi, as I never got around to buying a wireless adapter.

Oh yeah, I wonder if there's gonna be a flood of used 360 wifi adapters.

Lets see if the RROD will be fixed this time.

    I ALMOST bought a 360 recently...

Then saw that pretty much everyone with a 360 ran into the RROD problem and decided that it wasnt worth my time until they fix it for sure. The newer ones are better, but I still read people get RRODs. Since this is a totally new redesign, hopefully they finally fixed that...

Its a free fix even if you don't have a warranty...just takes a week and a half or so of not having an xbox don't think its that big of a deal.

I know, but why spend the time to go and package and mail it out when I can simply not buy the product in the first place? Its not as if I am a console gamer, my main platform is PC, I am just interested in a few genres that XBOX does which dont come up on the PC...
