Well that's cause you got absolutely no friends
I always enjoyed character development, leveling up, new skills, speccing, respeccing. I always hated looking for instance groups...until they FINALLY fixed that issue...the dungeon finder has been working really great all the way down to RFC or deadmines. Don't understand why it took so many more years to allow cross server instancing when basically PVP battlegrounds is the same thing and has been doing it for years.
40 really? Well i suppose kalimdor and ek are kinda deserted and it gets lonely leveling up...which BTW is another thing i kinda like I'd say "remember when outlands opened?" but at 40 you wont
Sticking an entire server population into 1 area...the lag...the humanity...the standing in line to kill your quest mob...no thanks i prefer to be alone in my areas
You know the next time you try wow, Kami, roll a DK so y ou get to start at 58 and can jump right to outlands. Kindof an entertaining quest line for new DKs, and the gear ain't bad either (fairly sure it beats the gear all the other classes will have speed leveling to 60).

I don't know why but I keep thinking of firing up WOW again. None of my friends play, but I am somewhat itching to play this type of game.

I keep having that issue then I restart and don't find anything as fun as I remember. Maybe the expansion will bring it back.

I'm of the same opinion - I really didn't like hardly any of it. My cousin talked me into playing with him and some of his work friends and dreaded the nights we would play. I made it to 60 and then just couldn't handle the boredom anymore.

We should have just stayed in EQ2 - the quest system sucks but I liked it a lot more.

For those of you bashing on World of Warcraft, what other MMO's that are out right now do you advise playing? I don't think there is anything else currently out there in the fantasy range that even comes close WoW in PVE content. Many others have tried, however, most have failed miserably.

The only games in the future I see as being contenders are Guild Wars 2 or Star Wars The Old Republic. Both of these games will not be out for some time, however. Also, from what little I have seen of The Old Republic, it does not impress me. Guild Wars two is at least talking about a lot of evolved game mechanics(phasing, no healers) plus no subscription fee.

Motherboard: ASUS P5QL Pro LGA 775
    Processor: Q6600 @2.4
    RAM: 4 gig OCZ Platinum DDR2 1066
Harddrive: 250 gig Seagate SATA 3.0g
Video Card: ASUS EAH 4850 512meg
    Operating System: Windows 7

My cousin and I had a lot of fun in Conan but I know that's not a popular game. I can't stand the artwork in WoW due to its cartoony look. That's definitely not my bag.

Vanguard is an awesome MMO that was terribad when it launched but now is quite fun. The people who play it are also much more mature and helpful than the typical WoW server.

I prefer the cartoony look. I just find it ages better and since it doesn't try to look realistic it doesn't bother me like other games.

I didn't mind AOC when it first came out till about level 30. At that point I got bored and started hitting the grind. My big problem though as someone who likes to roll alts was the starting area. It got boring the second time around.

As I understand it, LotRO is the game to go to for PvE. I couldn't get into it, myself, but I'm not a huge fan of traditional MMOs.

Dungeons & Dragons Online is my fantasy MMO of choice. The game is fun as soon as you land in Stormreach, quests scale to match your party composition, there are different difficulty levels for each quest, most of the quest areas are designed in an interesting way with branching paths, random boss mobs and secret areas, and most importantly the game is just plain fun to play.

That was my biggest gripe as well. I enjoyed it the first time through, but it was a chore after that.

I hear good things about LOTR and it will be free in the fall I think. I just don't think anyone can match Blizzard. They put out great games and take care of their customers. They are like Valve. Look at how much extra content they give you as part of the subscription fee. Sony very rarely did that--they typically charged you 20 dollars for an expansion.

I am excited for Guild Wars 2. I loved the first one.

Sony isn't the best company when it comes to being grateful. Look at Turbine, there has been a ton of book updates for free.
