I don't roll on Shabbos!
I am on mission 25 in the campaign and it is excellent. The best RTS campaign I have ever played for sure. I've never had a RTS immerse me into a story and world like a proper RPG does and this does it better than most RPGs. Its really on the same level as Mass Effect's story and presentation.

Awesome.
Looks like going through Tychus' missions is what leads to the interesting stuff, 14 missions in and I'm finally starting to see the main storyline.

Last single player mission I did was the one with the colonies of infested Terran. It was pretty boring.

Yeah, I did all of those and all of the rebellion missions and they're pretty boring. Tychus' missions start dealing with Kerrigan and Zeratul pretty quickly.

I just beat the game. The last missions are great and a good step up in difficulty, but not too bad on normal. The last mission was really fun. The ending is not as long as I was hoping for, but it was good none the less. Overall, I had a great time with the SP. I still have 4 more missions to do since you have to make a choice on some of them and the secret mission as well. Also, I want to get some of the achievements, so that will keep me going for awhile.
The beginning missions are quick and easy just to get the player acquainted with the units and to start the beginning of the story. I was never bored in a mission, but the beginning missions are very basic compared to the ending ones.
senorgotti, you are really good at the game, so you might want to play the campaign on brutal or hard to give you more of a challenge.

How do I go about fixing the fan speed issue? My fan speeds shoot up as soon as I start the game. Editing the variables text file doesn't seem to fix this. Anyone?

That is the only fix. This caps the FPS at 60 fps so the fps doesn't go through the roof and tax your system. However, if your system is taxed at 60fps then the fans will kick on to cool your system. Starcraft has no control over your fan speed, the computer kicks them up when the computer is running hard. Starcraft is a good looking game that takes a lot more power, especially on high settings, than previous blizzard games. It will run your system hard on higher settings.
You could log your temps and adjust your fans down manually if it is not getting that hot.

I'm in bronze league, which is the lowest skilled. However, if you play the single player on normal, and are used to mp games, it feels pretty easy. Knowing some shortcuts and basic stuff like building lots of scv's goes a long way.

I'm playing the campaign on hard and didn't have to retry a mission until the final one. In fact most of them I'm pretty sure I could finish on brutal.
But now I'm at the final mission and I've played it 5 times now. I've found that just building loads of tanks works quite well, but I always get overrun after I'm about 90% done.
The story is really lame but who cares, it's fun to play.
I played Zerg in SC1, but I prefer Terran this time. In 1v1, I pretty much just build 2 barracks and tech to Medivacs, obviously building SCVs and depots along the may, maybe even an Engineering Bay. An army of 8 marines, 4 heavy infantry guys, and 2 medivacs tears through pretty much everything if you build it early enough.
My favorite map is that 1v1 space platform map that only has two starting points and a floating expansion between them. Build another command center right about when the factory is finished and fly it over there. For some reason nobody seems to notice.

I hate that map. The only map I have on my skip list so far. I play toss so I loose to mmm most of the time. Would love to play you, so I can work on the PvT match up.

Great White Shark
I was playing SP on hard until the mission where you have to get the gas from 7 out of the 14 purple gas things where the Protoss are capping them as well. That was the first mission that I started to have trouble getting the 2 achievements and completing all objectives as well. I just switched to Normal and plan on going back through on Hard to get all achievements. Some of those are pretty hard to get.

I just started playing custom and challenge games. I played the tower defense game for probably 4 hours today haha. I wonder when a dota will be launched?

Just got the Brutal FFA achievement. I cheesed it though. Lifted my base off to a remote island, turtled there, waited until only one opponent was left, and brought in a fleet of Battlecruisers.
