If you want to get better, quit watching pro replays. Watch your own instead. Here's a guide from Day[9] about what to look for in your replays.

I've gotten a lot better since I started looking at each replay and seeing what I could have done better. Especially if you lose against an early push, it's generally fairly easy to figure out where you went wrong.

I don't watch the pro replays to get better, I watch them because they're fun to watch.

Your advice to watch your own replay is good, but I have definitely gotten better from watching pro replays.

Getting matched up against gold players, but still bronze. I like getting the "*** you are bronze?" messages though.

The Day 9 daily is the best thing to watch for tips. It's not commentary but advice and analysis.

Just had a great game I was over at like 6 mins when I had DTs in the enemy base it was a 3 v 3 I crippled their Econ I destoryed all their drones besides 3 I had one DT with 31 kills. Even took out a command center Luckily the one building the scanner but the other side had missle turrets and my guys died due to siege tanks...But needless to say I killed 79 drones out of like 82.....Yea they weren't going anywhere.

Mothership rush in a tournament match. I no longer doubt Huk. Quality is faded but still funny.

I watched that earlier... Who does that? I was busting up laughing but he played it well. Brought it in around back, mass recall and built some pylons to summon more units. Then he goes and forcefield blocks the choke point so he has more time in the base. Hilarious....

If I had protoss or terran things would have been different. Random gave me zerg three times in a row.

this right here is why sc/sc2 is preferred for competitive play over say DoW which has newer mechanics and more races... it would take decades to get DoW balanced

crota is my favorite... he has a very boring voice but is very analytical which i find helps improve my game

Late to the game in this thread. Picked up the game a week ago, but was out of the country and didn't really have internet access.

Been playing a lot of skirmish matches against the computer. Epic fun. Can beat the computer pretty consistently now on the hard setting on most maps with all three races.

I'm still bothered by resource collection. Back in SC1 I really only played custom maps where you started with at least 10k resources. IMO it's a lot more fun when you can start with something and don't have to worry about getting rushed into oblivion in the first 5-10 minutes. Makes the game a lot more strategic in some ways too. I wish there was an official "mode" that let you set starting resources.

I can't stand defensive turtle type players, so I can imagine that mode either being really slow or extremely fast. What would stop me from making 10 void rays and a mothership? I think you will start to see imbalance if you had a huge mineral lead like that. I'm thinking Terran would be pretty dominant in high mineral start game. Zerg wouldn't stand a chance beings all units come from hives.

Start your placement matches if you can beat the AI on hard every time. You are probably good to go. Always expect a rush until you scout. A player who does not scout is either rushing or really sucks. Not many people are going to jump right in to a game at this point, so don't expect someone to suck that bad.
