Ah so THAT is what a docent is! Man, you get those damned things all the time in DDO and they're completely useless if you're not a warforged.

The docent sounds pretty similar to a concept used in another game I'm playing currently, Eclipse Phase. In Eclipse Phase, everyone has something called a muse which is like an AI that lives inside your head and acts as your journal and go-to for all mesh-related activities. If you've ever read Snow Crash, it's kind of like the dude Hiro has in his computer system that helps him search for things.

Since we're going to make it so your character is highly unique, we should make these items rather unique as well. Add some of these to your wish list and I'll work it into the story of your origins.

EDIT: Oh, it occurs to me I left Timman out of the Taggart backstory discussion! We're going to make it so Tock's existence in this world is not normal. Ashen knows this, the Holy Order knows this and Werk might know this, but Tock does not. He of course knows he is a construct but he has no memory of life prior to being found by Ashen and Professor Grandmeer (oh snap, named!) several years ago and does not realize he is unique.

EDIT 2: For those of you who missed that, I'm going to call the deceased professor, Professor Thaldon Grandmeer.

What about having standard items attached or embedded to my being?

For example, I'm thinking about having a heavy shield "attached" to one of my arms. According to the manual, this treats the shield as a light shield since your hand is still free to do stuff.

Attached components are fastened to your body in such a way that, as long as you’re conscious, they can only be removed if you want them to be. Such an item cannot be taken from you, and you can’t accidentally drop it. You sense if such an item is damaged. Unless otherwise specified, affixing an attached component to you takes the same amount
of time as it would for another character to draw and/or ready such an object.

Any item can become a component item or be found as one. Your DM decides if an item he or she places in an adventure is a component item, and you can craft these items as normal. Making an item a component item does not increase its cost or level.

Shield: With a heavy shield attached to you, your shield hand can hold items as if the shield were light. An attached light shield offers no additional special benefit.
So I guess the first question is if its even possible to have standard items attached or embedded (as per the D&D guidelines)?

If so, with regards to heavy shields, does this mean I don't suffer a -2 penalty to strength, dex, and con related skill checks for an attached heavy shield?

My idea was to have a shield attached that i can mechanically draw and withdraw at will depending on the situation. It would be stored on my back and slide/transformation into place as part of a minor action (the same as readying a weapon) . I think that still works within standard rules but If I can have a heavy shield attached and treat it like a light shield (but with 2 AC bonus), then that's just icing on the cake. I'm not sure it works like that but i haven't found any explanation online to clarify.

EDIT: Cleaned up my post. A couple of other things I was toying around with: Embedded compartments that are basically secret storage spaces to hold money and small items of high worth, an embedded short sword in my right arm that I can use in emergencies, and attaching holy symbols to my body.

Updated my wish list which is in my shared folder.

I'll be making changes to it off and on. Consider it a dynamic list of awesomeness. I also found out the eberron manual has more in depth stuff regarding warforged and components and etc. I'll try to get a chanve to read it this week to see whats up.

It is quite common for their type to worship some of the... ah... less savory of dragon gods. Because they share some form of kinship with the dragons, they are sometimes sought out by young dragons looking for protection. Judging from the fact that you are still alive, surely this dragon was quite young." He leans back in his chair and waves his hand dismissively, "I doubt there would be any sort of "uprising" from any kobolds; dragon or no. Maybe some looting and pillaging, and they do love their traps, but the little beasties just don't have it in them for any grand schemes."

Balasar reaches into his desk drawer, pulls out a pouch and places it in front of you. "200 gold, as we agreed. Good job out there."

    [You gain 200gp]

"I have another mission for you and your friends, if you would accept. I was contacted by an agent of The Holy Order of Bahamut and Company who is currently operating out towards Gorizbadd. She reports that there is a potentially dangerous artifact located somewhere in the town, and if this falls into the wrong hands, the results could be devastating." Balasar leans forward in his chair, gently resting his fist on the desk. "We must recover this artifact. Will you help?"

The dwarf leads you into his shop where you see two shirtless dwarves hard at work on a rather large greatsword. One is holding the hilt up an anvil while the other is pounding it with a hammer. The room is illuminated by the two furnaces burning hot along the back of the room.

Teldorthan shouts, "HOWDY, BOYS!" to which they reply, without looking up, "HEY, POPS."

Along the walls you see many weapons and various suits of armor, all immaculately crafted, shining steel reflecting the fire from the furnaces so clearly they might as well be made of glass.
Teldorthan sells all sorts of armor and weapons. He tends to have any Simple or Military weapon you can think of in stock at any given time. If desired, he and his sons will craft you Superior weapons, but it will take some time to do so.

So I guess no dynamic role playing like I suggested.

I begrudgingly sell the sword for 6 gp.

Just got my first miniature, that a friend painted for me for the campaign he's running IRL -

I never bothered to give my Tiefling Warlock a name, so he was always just "The Nameless Warlock," but once I decided on a miniature and we realized he was throwing the horns my character became known as "The Rock and Roll Warlock."

Now his name is officially Amadeus Rockso.
