with all of the fans in my tower, it wont really matter. I dont know much about this processer but it said 2.8 Mhz - 3.06. What does that mean? Does it clock higher on its own or something like that?

Yup, its called Turbo Boost. The CPU, when it senses heavy use, kicks up the CPU multi a couple notchs, to 23, thus, the 3.06GHz clock. In low use, or idle, the CPU will kick down the CPU multi, to around 12, thus about 1.6Ghz clock.

I don't understand why people get these systems instead of Lynnfield. I can understand if you were going for a six-core, single socket workstation with 24GB+ of ram, a Quadro 6000+Tesla C2050, plus a dedicated SAS controller and iSCSI adapter or Fiber Channel HBA.
