    upgrading a dell dimension 8100 motherboard

    looking for advise / info for upgrading the motherboard on a dell dimension 8100,
    what motherboards can i upgrade to??

    Guessing you're wanting to reuse the same CPU??

    Getting a NON Dell mobo to fit in the case will be difficult due to the different wiring hookups.

    Getting a NON Dell mobo - you won't be able to use your Dell cd/dvd.

    I use to have a dimension 8100. I think it house a Pentium 4?

    anyway you can't change mobos on dell desktops. other than for an identical one. or if they make a newer version with a different mobo and same chassiss
