    windows server 2008 hyper-v

    so if i have a box with server 2008 as the only os can i then create virtual machine from within that os? does this eliminate the need to use vmware, virtualbox, etc...?

    Personally, I would skip Hyper-V at the moment. Just put free ESXi on there and virtualize whatever hosts you need.
