So how do you make a lava powered furnace?

Man, I made a major mistake, I've been digging, stepping, torching my way every downwards for about 5 hours of gameplay, until I finally came upon a massive cave with some resources. It's also got 4 monster spawns in it, and now all of my gear is down there too.

Is the only way to effectively take out skeletons with a bow of your own? Do you need armor? Because they are handing me my *** right now.

Oh MAN that sounds awesome! Killing skeletons up close is tough but doable. If you're going up against a cave full of monsters I absolutely recommend some armor.

To power your furnace with lava, you need to fill a bucket and then place the bucket in place of where you'd put the coal.

You should practice strafing while shooting arrows at skels. Once you get good at it, they fall pretty easily. Plus after the fight, you can grab any arrows that missed your target.

I use a different tactic when exploring way the hell further than I meant to... and am carrying a ton of stuff and can't afford to die. If a skeleton pops out near me then, what I'll do is throw up 2 units of dirt right in front of me, then build that out both left and right. It happens often enough that when I hear that bow twang near me, I hit the dirt hotkey and start throwing down blocks within about half a second. Easy to pick them off with the sword then as they jump around outside the makeshift wall.

The guy that did that star trek enterprise used a CAD model and imported it, I think the guys that modeled earth did as well. I don't have a link to a formal article though.

I don't think you can. You get arrows when you kill skeletons and zombies.

? I can recover my arrows that hit dirt blocks. Do you mean skel arrows? You can't retrieve the arrows they shoot at you.
