I don't roll on Shabbos!
The colossus of sharkies is completed. I need to make a ladder up his back so we can relight his fire every now and then.

- Minecraft disconnecting issues -
Not sure if anyone else was being dropped due to a socket error but here's a fix below that worked for me: (copy / repost from another forum)
ERROR
------
Connection lost
Internal exception: java.net.SocketException: Connection reset by peer: socket write error
Some people are reporting those errors with particular network cards (Atheros is pointed out).
FIX
---
Start Button -> Control Panel -> Hardware and Sound -> Device Manager -> Network Adapters
Right Click the Atheros Card -> Properties -> Advanced
Select Transmit Buffers, and change the value from 256 to 512.
***Select Each of the things with "Checksum Offload" and disable them.
Click Okay
Run Minecraft
P.S. Monroe was working his butt off on his underwater project

This is what I did the first night to try fixing mine and it helped a lot but didn't solve it completely, it just increased the amount of time before a crash.
Last night I switched to a different card and had no errors afterwards, even when I dig fast.

Wow, everyone put a lot of effort into the server last night.
Lol, Adisharr, not sure where you were planning on stopping either. I put the left turn in to goto Linoleum's waterfall cavern. I'll keep working on the uber highway, but I keep running out of gravel for the footpath.
Tonight though, I need to search for diamond. A LOT. I need better tools. Going through a stack of 8-10 shovels in 30 minutes is annoying.
*Edit: And I love the colossus straddling the highway.

I wanted to add some nipples but wasn't sure if that was already planned or not

I've had no disconnects since the change but if I start getting them again perhaps a new card is in order. I had a couple of spare NICs but they kept failing on my server due to surges (3 so far). No problems since I put a small UPS on it.

Has got that jut
Wish our base was a little closer to the ocean. Kind of regret making my glass tunnel in just a little pond, particularly since water still doesn't seem to be placing correctly so I can't just run over to the ocean and grab more in buckets.
By the time I'm done that little pond is going to have grown by a LOT, I think. I thought a glass underwater tunnel would be cool anyway, but I built it as I did (with the overhang water access) so we can fish out of it after they get added to the game. Water will probably need to be a bit deeper for that, though, currently you'd just be fishing in the dirt. I think after I finish the span across the pond I'm going to get to work on the floor, and after that dig out the area underneath the glass so it will be 360 covered by water.

If you go down into my mine, try lengthening the main hallway a little bit and starting new tunnels. Some of the side tunnels we have now are LOOOOOOOONG and if you ever have to go back up for something it takes forever to get back to where you were.
Also, last I checked we have at least one diamond sitting in the ore chest for you to make a shovel with if you want to.

As a note: I harvested the floating tree farm over the pond this morning. Got ~190 wood blocks, converted 64 of them into wood planks and left the rest for compact storage.
*Edit: Please, when you have time, or are bored, feel free harvest/replant the tree farm, it grows fairly quickly, and usually offers up enough saplings during harvesting that you can replant immediately.

I'm probably going to put off building my tower until we can get water and lava placement working. Have some good ideas for those.

Technically yes. Take a long damn time though. Plus, at some point the water source blocks won't be able to reach far enough to fill it in, so until we can place water without it disappearing it would likely end up being just an empty ditch for some large stretches.

I'm a little surprised at the 16x movement in Hell, I figured it would be about 10.
