I got a bottom layer on ultrapit and then it friggin ignited. I even covered all the lava holes but it still went off. I think we will need to put down a nice cover of rock before we start building it up.

Just because it's weird to see something circular in a square-block world.

It's a 3-block deep pit that is completely grass covered. No purpose (yet).

    Nice!

I just finished tiling the ground floor of my building. Takes forever when you have to lay 2 blocks per block (half steps are smoother in appearance, and actually look like tiles).

I'm thinking I want some artwork in the floor, or a more interesting tile pattern, but for now it works.

    There's a give code to give you double-stacked half steps. I think it's 43.

    Haxx.

Btw I seriously hate whoever demo'ed my spawn point... I drop straight down to the bedrock and it takes 20 mins to get out because of the reappearing block glitch

Almost happened to me. My spawn is right next to that water filled hole a short walk east of the Sharky sign.

Next time you /home, make sure you have a bunch of dirt or cobblestone in your inventory; then, without moving anywhere, keep jumping and building below you to make a tower back to ground level. Then just use shift to sneak over to the edges and build a floor around you/path back to the main ground.

Man I wish I could, but I can't break blocks OR place them in/around that hole. I don't know if it's because there's so much going on there (tons of water routing), but nothing functions in that area. The only thing I can do is slowly make my way up a waterfall and pray I don't wander out of the downstream and fall back down.

Next time you see me on the server, let me know, I'd like to see that area.

Now that you mention it, I remember I can't do that either. Annoyed me the first time I logged in because I thought I couldn't do it at all; took a while to realized I could place blocks and such, just not around my spawn.

See if you can drop a boat in the water; you can ride those up waterfalls at lightning speed.

It's the area I spawn, right near the Lincoln memorial... kinda between that and the TNT chests. You can't miss it, there's a ton of effing water flowing into it and it goes all the way to the bedrock.

I can't even place blocks on the surface to stem the flow of the topside water... the blocks just vanish.

@Monroeski - good idea, I will keep a boat in my inv and see if I'm able to place it next time I have to /home.

As far as I can tell, the way it works now is there is a "protected" (no digging/placing blocks) area of approximately(?) 32x32 which is the spawn point for everyone.

If you type /home it will take you there, although I don't know if it puts you in the same spot every time, or picks a random spot from the safe area, or something else entirely. Whatever it is, with the size of the tnt/water pit, typing /home will get you close enough to know where the problem is.

And it appears admins and ops are allowed to place blocks in the safe area.

Drops me in the exact same spot every time.

When I get home later I'll cover the floor of the spawn area with bedrock.

Working on sopping up the water and making a nice clean obsidian landing pad for /home now between projects at work. Sometimes I love my job.

*Edit: done. Hopefully that is the spot everyone has been landing at. If not, Kama can take care of the other/s.

Hey just wanted to mention that I was demoing an area next to my building and a piece of TNT made it over to the tracks and blew a chunk out I'll take care of that
