how long ago was that? All you do know is save the zipped texture package in the mod folder and then select it it in the game menu. pretty quick and easy.
If we hit that bull's eye, the rest of the dominoes will fall like a house of cards. Checkmate.

It was a while before texture packs were integrated.

It still wasn't a long or hard process by any means, I just didn't care enough to do it at that time.

Is the auto-refreshing map turned off or just not working?

I'm just as happy with a lower res plain overhead view if it helps the bandwidth.

    Sorry, that's my fault.

Tried to allow it to used the EXTRACTEDBIOMES data to allow for correct Biome details on the map. But it crashes the map generator, so I'll remove that stuff.

    The server broke.

p.s. Just the survival one, apparently. I get timed out on login every time. I can still get into creative map aka warzone. Some new holes and water streams all over the road from base to the skyscraper.

Restarted both servers to be safe, and I'm logged into the smp one just to make sure, seems fine.

Who's been dynamiting the damn roads on the creative server?

The large new section at the top (southeast) section of the map is due to me getting lost.

Still working on learning my east from my west.

If anyone wants a really huge snowy area to work in though, I found it.

Tonight I learned that lava throws sparks that can set you on fire; I had never noticed even though I've worked a LOT with lava.

Unfortunately, this knowledge came about because I was set on fire while alt-tabbed away from the game, and thus had no time to put myself out. Lost a full compliment of diamond tools, my suit of armor, and 10 buckets.

According to minecraftwiki, the sparks won't set people or items on fire. From my own experience, it will at the very least cause the burning animation on items (e.g. workbench) that are nearby.

So, maybe a daytime creeper or spider found you?

I discovered that I screwed up and cut the grid lines in my city wrong.
Have to completely redo them, which is OK because it didn't take a super long time.

Supposedly today will be the "big" update to minecraft beta.

Not live yet, but from twitter:
"Included in the release today is leaf decay, working server-side inventory, throwable eggs, and less system hungry servers."

Just went to login to the server, and it gives me a "server outdated."

    Downloaded the latest minecraft_server.jar

Which greats us with the following:

    Code:
2010-12-20 14:02:43 [INFO] Starting minecraft server version Beta 1.0
    It's live now!

*Edit: holy smokes do I hope there is an update soon. Just spawned duplicates of all my tools for the first minute, then after that every time I did anything (digging, opening door, treasure chest, furnace), my tool in hand vanished. Just lost my diamond shovel and pickaxe, along with one of the duplicates of each. Server side inventory isn't quite working I don't think.

Ugh you think they would have maybe tested it a bit before releasing

Looks like they fixed the 'repair tool when dropped / picked up' which totally sucks. Is there an option to turn off tool wear? Having to keep making tools takes a lot of the fun out of the game.

I seem to be able to open doors w/o losing anything though. Having tried digging - my laptop at work can't handle the graphics very well.

Linoleum was up there with me; happened at the top of the Falls. No mob could have gotten up there in the first place, especially an unnoticed one while he was up there as well.

    Apparently I just spontaneously combusted.

    Spoiler

    ::edit::
Also of note: I have no idea where that "Recon Tower 1: Monroeski" on the map came from that's attributed to me. Only sign I made was on the mine; I haven't even been over to that area that I can remember.
