I'd actually like to play around with the Rackspace Cloud as well.
They've got two options that seem like they might work:
2048 MB - $0.12
4096 MB - $0.24
Seems like the 4GB rig might be good candidate for this, and it's cheaper than the 7.5GB Large EC2 instance.
If you guys want the 4GB one I can probably get my company to pay for it. Just going to have to let me throw in a plug in the server name and maybe build some bricks in the shape of our logo.

I wouldn't take the Sharky server away from James unless he really wants to give it up, but if you started up a good alternate Yourcompany server, I would probably join, and maybe even build* the logo thing.
The only problem with a "temporary" server (e.g. one that will only be up until James gets his data back) is that it's annoying to invest time in building anything big/complex when you know the server will/might go away soon.

Reason: *I built the "Sharky" signs on both the creative and survival servers. :P

I'm not going to take it away, because I'm not going to admin. I'm just going to pay for it and give someone the SSH keys and root.

Well in that case, you want to just load the one I started on EC2 last night?
It's only been played for 3 hours, so it's still fairly pristine. And if you, I mean your company, ever decides to stop hosting it, I could just put it back on EC2.

You guys sound like you have it sorted out. I'm still waiting on the release of my equipment (got ahold of the old webhost last night!).
Once I get my server, I might just throw it back up on another hosting company for $49 a month until I can get the home situation figured out.

I don't roll on Shabbos!
So, Minecraft copied Infiniminer and then a 360 games comes out called FortressCraft recently. The Minecraft guys get mad and try to sue. I've never heard of a company suing another developer that makes a clone. It is somewhat unheard of in the industry. Just think if Rockstar sued Saints Row, Mafia, Crackdown, and the list goes on.
Video of Infiniminer:

Oh also, FortressCraft is only 99 cents on 360. You don't have to pay to host either. Might be worth looking into it.

Man, things are getting crazy. Now I want to create a powered rail system through the world.
*UPDATE: Darksavior is back up and running. World's seem OK, though I'm kind of pissed. Creative server has either corruption, or some griefers got to it. My skyscraper has had the crap blown out of it. Looks like someone started on the top floor with a bunch of TNT and let it eat it's way through the building.
*UPDATE2: Doesn't look like DNS changes are propogating properly. I'll look into it and see what I can do.

Still having trouble getting darksavior.net to resolve right after the server move. But using darksavior.org should work fine for those who want back on the server.

I couldn't get in yesterday afternoon or evening, but I got in this morning (using darksavior.net).
p.s. Don't enclose your bed too much or you will suffocate when you awake.
p.s.2. Check the map before trying to return to where you suffocated rather than wandering aimlessly.
p.s.3. Don't let creepers follow you into enclosed areas.
p.s.4. Bad idea to jump from cliff* when you have 3 hearts left.
*if anyone finds some stuff at the bottom of a cliff, it's mine...

Awesome.
If you rebind your respawn point to a bed, does it change the respawn point for everyone on the server or just you?
