you can play the import using softmods to enable region free unlock.
ive been playing for about 2 hours and it feels solid, the combat is similar to FF12 and Xenogears is one of my favorite games of all time.
its a shame this game wasnt on PS3/X360 though since HD visuals would go great with the art direction

I would recommend gecko_os for playing imports. Its a softmod that is fantastic.
If we hit that bull's eye, the rest of the dominoes will fall like a house of cards. Checkmate.

I'll have to pick up a Wii this holiday season and play this game. It looks fantastic from what I have seen.

Last Story looks to be even better and drops next year in the EU.

All reports say it runs pretty damn good in dolphin. Couple missing textures here and there and some people have audio "popping" but most have no issues at all.

Awesome.
I'm about 5 hours in now and I am really enjoying it thus far. To me, this is one of those games where once you start playing you just don't want to stop.

Quick question and maybe I missed it in the tutorial. Is there any way to directly command other part members or are you stuck with the main character during battles?

You only have control of the leader during a battle. You can swap who you control by going to the party screen and making that person the leader, but you can only do this if you're not already in combat.

That kinda sucks but fast travel and auto quest completion more than makes up for it. I'm glad you don't have to return to the quest originator after you fetch the needed pieces.
I'm pulling my hair out. Where is the main characters house so I can fix the watch?

Its where the Monado is. In that room in one of the corners is a work bench. Walk up to it and you should see an option to fix the watch. I suggeest collecting 3 blue chains before you do.

Chain attacks allow you to control each party member in successive order. I've found thats the best time to setup break-topple-daze combos.

Awesome.
I find that setting up the break-topple-daze combos happens pretty organically, thankfully. My party members all seem to understand that if the enemy has Break that they should Topple, etc. I haven't had a single issue with the party AI thus far, but I just got the gun-toting buff/debuff chick in my party so now I get to see how smart the AI really is.

Thoughts on the game so far? I just picked up the the gun chick and I'm working on the timed missions in the Bionis leg.
I have to say, there is a crap load of content IMHO. I'm 8 hours in and still getting tutorial videos. Granted, I did clear out all the colony 9 quests before hand but barely made a dent in the affinity quests.
