I don't roll on Shabbos!
Plasma is by far the best way to go these days. With all the improvements made to reduce burn in, energy consumption, and noise there really isn't a reason to get a LCD anymore unless you want a small set. The viewing angles, contrast ratio, refresh rate, and color gamut are all way better than LCD. The only downside is that text can not look as sharp as it does on an LCD, but an LCD looks too "sterile" when compared to a plasma, which has a more natural picture.
Anyway, I just beat Dead Space 1 on PC and it was great. I had some frustrating issues such as random crashes and various glitches (scripting locked up) that ruined a few of the chapters. The narrative was painfully predictable as well as the fighting. I ran up to a character I had been talking to for quite some time on the radio and I said to myself "I bet he gets shot and or killed before I get there and then I get bum rushed by necros" and sure enough that happened. I even started calling how many waves would come from a room or what would set off a necro attack. The scripting was far too transparent, but the game is 3 years old.
Overall, I would highly recommend it! Another problem was that I had it set on medium and it automatically went to hard out of no where with no option to set it back. It made the last few levels a little hectic especially since it crashed to desktop on the last boss.
It was still worth the play through, solid game!

I just beat Dead Space 2. It was much more polished than the first and the environments were more varied. However, it was shorter. I beat it in 6 hours 30mins keeping a decent pace through the end, but still checking every log, audio file, and video as well as all the extra routes and rooms. DS2 did away with some of the tediousness that was found in DS1, but at the cost of length. The game is much more cinematic. It is a hell of a lot more stable and it looks much better as well. The shaders and lighting seemed like a major step forward which helped the atmosphere. There were only 4 suits in the game during the first play through. So few, in fact, that I thought I missed several when I beat the game. I checked the FAQs and I found them all, there just aren't many.
Overall, I would have been disappointed with a 60 dollar price point due to the length (I beat it in 2 sittings), but the experience was not one to pass up at today's price!
The game did not glitch or crash at all, unlike the glitch riddled DS1.

My only argument against plasma is that they still aren't warrantied or rated for use at over 5000 ft. elevation. Coming from a town that was at 7200 ft in elevation has permanently burned me on the idea of a Plasma television.
Most recently "beat" Terraria. I've found/crafted all the items in the game. Kind of burnt out on it somewhere through yesterday. I'm sure I'll go back to it, but I won't be playing it as obsessively as I was previously.

DS1 never crashed on me once... YMMV.
Just finished FEAR 3. Loved it. I was playing it over a friends house so I'll be buying it for myself in the near future since the co-op looks like a blast.

You may want to relook at plasmas. Some of the newer models are rated for higher elevation.

Finished Dragon Age Origins the other night. Solid game. I'm not going to play Awakening or any of the DLC as I've already got it ready for trade-in to Amazon. Next up is Alpha Protocol and whatever the hell else I feel like playing.

Too bad, Awakening was better than Origins IMO.

Yeah, I heard Awakening was good It appears if you buy the retail Awakening disc you don't need an Origins disc provided you have an Origins save game on your drive. Conversely, if you download it through the marketplace you must have the Origins disc. Anyone confirm?

I do not support this message lol. Everything about awakening was inferior to Origins imo.

Light reflection can be a deal killer for some people. Doesn't matter how good the picture is if you can't see it through the reflection of your window.
There's basically one corner in our living room that we can put our plasma without the windows making everything hard to see, and we don't have very many windows.
I'll still be getting another plasma as my next set, though.

Look for AR coatings. They don't totally eliminate the problem, but it does help a ton. Most sets have it standard these days.

I beat Just Cause 2 (all missions, to the end credits). Still 65% to go for 100% completion, which I'll probably never get.
I really enjoyed it.
I was simultaneously playing through Borderlands (finished the main playthrough a few days before I beat JC2) and now I am working on the DLC stuff so that is what's "next" for me.
And I don't have a plasma TV so I can't weigh in on that. I do have a projector, though.

I heard you can co-op the whole Fear 3 campaign - is that true? Looking for another game to co-op when a friend once we finish Dungeon Siege 3.
Also, I haven't played Fear 1 or 2... will I miss out on a ton of back-story? Is 3 a decent stand-alone game?

I beat Two Worlds II.
It really turned out to be a good game. The ending was lame, boss battles suck and do nothing to improve a game. TWII was actually a good game and didn't need that crap at the end.
