I want to try the game out first, but if I like it count me in. Maybe put a Sunday evening deadline on it or something? Unless you fill up the 4 pack by then. I really like the free weekends, you can get a good feel for a game in that time period. Like with Brink...glad I didn't waste any money on that! Free weekend saved me.

played a round..game is awesome. Hopefully it wasn't just a fluke. Commander was VOIPing to everyone where to go and stuff. Has a flowy counterstrike feel to it with the movement. Probably b/c source engine. Same menu options, layout, etc. Just try it out.

*BTW count me out of the 4 pack. I bought it at gamersgate for $7.50 and just used the code and activated it on steam. That's $1.50 savings from the 4 pack and $4.49 savings off current single copy sale at steam. Never bought anything from gamersgate before...but this worked. Game also reminds me of BF2142. There are squads, objective points, and a commander. I think the community is very very small, though so risky, but had good ping on the servers with people in them. As long as there are a couple of servers, I'll be happy. I still play Day of Defeat:Source, and that has only 100-300 people a night on LOL.

Go for it! I know you like RTS, and that's exactly what it is. You build stuff, capture resources and you even get to sit inside a little bunker at a computer Build turrets, supply stations, spawn areas for the grunts like me to use.

oh, just figured out these guys made the insurgency mod, which was pretty BA for a source mod. Then CoD4 came out LOL. totally bad timing.

The commander role fulfills my needs wonderfully, I only wish there could be more visibility for players that are calling for help.

Played for about 3 to4 hours. Fun game although I've noticed issues with character animations. The weapon balance needs major tweaking IMHO. Picked it up at gamer gate.

Is this still being supported by the devs?

EDIT: Saw it just released in Sept of this year so it should still be getting support.

A patch was just released yesterday, they're definitely still supporting the game.

Yeah they are pretty active with their support and have steam forum responses to threads and stuff. Reminds me of tripwire and killing floor's support.

I enjoyed it and had a couple of good games after you got off Kama. Some corner battles for position and at resource points are pretty hairy. Reminds me of company of heroes resource battles, but in first person.

All in all good purchase. Funny though that they released an update last night that only a couple servers had. So you had 5 full servers and 100 completely empty. Server list should be GTG today though.
