I played SPAZ. It is a fantastic game until the infected stuff showed up. Such a let down. It is about as bad as the flood in halo. I don't see why videogame developers feel they need to "mix it up" half way through the game by changing the gameplay so much that the entire game is different. I loved the large naval battles, but now I have to micro manage "infection" and tip toe around small bits of debris. Damn, I was really enjoying it too.

Finally finished Arkham City. Loved it! 9 of 10, maybe even a 10. Next up I'll probably go for Skyrim. I keep hearing about it and I'm dying to play it. I waited until I finished Arkham because I know Skyrim will suck me in and I won't play anything else for a long time.

Sorry. I can't play multiplayer on Gears. One game every now and then just to remind me why I don't play it lol.

Just Beat: Gears of War 3

Personal Score: 9.3 out of 10

    ---

Played through Co-op on Hardcore with my brother. Gears has been a staple of our co-op since '06. In many ways, I enjoyed the third the most. They seemed to focus on what makes the GoW series so goddamned enjoyable, especially in co-op: the amazing firefights and intensity. The core gameplay hasn't changed at all, but who cares when it's executed so flawlessly?
The shootouts with the Locusts, especially the Theron, are as manic and intense as ever. The chapter where they assault the base at night, with the sound turned up, my brother and and I sitting 4 feet from each other and still frantically yelling what we should do, and what our situation is, is puring gaming gold.
Like Halo, the gameplay is getting a tad long in the tooth, but it I really felt like Epic saved the best for last, and every section of the game was always downright fun. And the best parts were sheer genius.
    Great game, great series.

    Up Next:
Started RAGE. Been awhile since I've played an old-fashioned, linear FPS. Started out really slowly, but about 4 hours in, it's picking up a little. I'll probably play it through to the end. It doesn't seem like anything too stellar, but engaging enough for a mindless, straight-forward shooter.
Also still playing Skyrim, although not as much as before. Over 90 hours in...and I'm like 3 missions into the main quest, and a half dozen or so into some guild quests. I just love exploring.

After that, too many to choose from to say for sure, but I'm leaning towards something story-driven (JRPG, Zelda, Deus Ex?)

I really enjoyed that game until the nodes area at the end just wrecked my system. That was a long time ago though. It was one of those games I shelved until I had a better system, but never replayed.

I played on my netbook and yeah the nodes areas were horrible at times, I have never wanted to smash my netbook up more than I have playing this game the amount of severe slowdown/lockups those areas caused.. but they were right at the very end so I got through them eventually.

    Deus Ex: Human Revolution
    9.5/10

    +Fun,Fun,Fun
    +Multiple play styles supported
    +Good length
    +Engaging story

    -Ran kinda crappy

I own all three Deus Ex games however Human Revolution is the first one that I've completed. This is the most fun I've had with a game in a very long time. I played it stealth and while the A.I was kinda dumb it wasn't too bad. I definitely have to search out stuff to be critical about since nothing stands out. I really can't recommend this game enough pretty much anyone.

    Hard Reset
    7/10

    +GFX
    +Old School style FPS

    -Story is convoluted

Hard Reset is a pretty decent game, however, outside of the gorgeous atmosphere the game presents it is pretty forgettable. I have absolutely no idea what happened in the story. It is worth a play if you can get it for $10 or so.

I'm not quite done with the game, but I would support your entire review. (I'm about 90% done). Looking forward to a crazy killing spree runthrough.

I beat Homefront on my PS3 last night. Took 2 nights and done. Was rather fun finishing a game quickly, but the ending just abruptly ended, which is a shame.

I've now moved onto Uncharted 1. I am currently trying to fight my way to Elena after parachuting out of the plane...and the combat in this game is horrible. I'm tempted to just catch all the cutscenes on youtube because the neverending death by instant headshot from endless spawning enemies is really distracting from the otherwise fun gameplay.

It actually feels like it's gotten worse in the sequels.

I disagree. IMHO, Uncharted 2 improved the mechanics but Uncharted 3 took a step back and feels worse then 1.

Personally, I found Uncharted 2 to be the best in the series.

Just beat Braid. Interesting game but a bit overrated IMHO. I get the story is supposed to be open ended, but I think it just came off as overly pretentious. Mechanics were okay but I felt the controls were a bit sloppy and some of the puzzles were just tedious.

Glad I picked it up for 2 bucks.

    Just Beat: RAGE

Personal Score: 7.0 out of 10

    ---

Been awhile since I've played a linear, iD FPS. Last was Quake IV back in 2005, IIRC.
Anyway, while I enjoyed the game overall, it was so painfully linear, so anticlimactic, and so thoroughly generic that it is totally forgettable. My biggest problem was probably the setting; the post-apocalyptic future/wasteland setting with bandits and bands of nomads, etc in the desert is almost laughably overused. I just couldn't care less about the story/setting. It felt sooooo much like Fallout 3, minus ALL of the rich characters and backstory and freedom of the FO games.
Of course, nobody plays an ID game for story, but even the gunplay was fairly "meh". Not bad, just so 'rinse and repeat' as to be barely worth noting. Pretty sad when that's the game's major claim to fame.
The driving portions, IMO, were a TOTAL gimmick. Tiny little driving areas, map that tells you exactly where to go, and subpar vehicle combat. I went through the ENTIRE game without ONCE upgrading my buggy/vehicle thing, and I never once felt like I was seriously in danger.
The graphics were mostly excellent, but the texture pop-in and blur was noticeable, and the totally static and prerendered backgrounds and skies were pretty obvious.
And finally, it has probably one of, if not the, worst ending (sequences) I've seen in the past several years. Just...awful. I don't know if they ran out of time or what, but that was inexcusably weak.

Overall, the good graphics and mostly solid gunplay make it worth playing if looking for a straightforward shooter at a good price, but also totally forgettable.

    9/10

Awesome game. Only things that really bothered me were the weird "palsy" animation style of all the characters (constantly twitching), and inventory management.

The game's ambiance and storyline were great. The endings were good, but the choice was a copout.

I went through on a stealth/no-kill run on normal difficulty. Made stealth, but apparently someone somewhere died as a result of me. Worst part is, I don't even know where to backtrack to, as I didn't save in a given area until I was sure everyone was sleeping not dead.

Planning on playing back through on the hardest setting, debating on whether or not I will do no kill run.

Definitely worth the money when it's on sale.
