"Watches You Sleep" Shark
I have no idea what puerto rico is. When do you all play? let me know what the details are.
If we hit that bull's eye, the rest of the dominoes will fall like a house of cards. Checkmate.

This is Puerto Rico. It's rather highly-regarded so we finally gave it a shot.
And when you say "when do you all play," do you mean board games or the online RPG dealie? Because if you mean board games, you'd need to come out to Long Island for that.

Meant the online dealie. You still planning on doing a Dragon Age One shot?

I am indeed. I just put details up on the Facebook group last night.

Last night we played another game of BattleTech with some more of the rules. Melee attacks, heat buildup, critical hits, internal structure damage and pilot checks were all implemented into our scenario.
We set up a 4v4 situation across 2 maps included in the Intro Box and while we didn't get to finish our game yet (there was much rules lookup that delayed play), I am not doing well. The dice hate me.
One of my Mechs is missing his entire right side (leg, torso, arm) and is lying down getting focus-fired while he struggles to stand (missing leg = +5 to piloting check to stand up. I need to roll a 10 or higher on a 2d6 and every failed attempt results in heat buildup and more damage), another has been holding back launching missile volleys towards the enemy and the other two are trying to tie up the enemy's remaining units, but with poor results. I foresee failure in my future.
In other news, I was pointed to http://megamek.info/ for a digital version of the board game! It's apparently pretty good, but I haven't had a chance to check it out yet. Would anyone be interested in helping me test it?

Into the Wasteland
My son and I are doing the building block rules with Axis and Allies Angels 20. We are starting to add altitude to our dogfights. It makes a difference to get the core rules down in these games. Anyway, I don't know when I would have time but I would be willing to test it with you.

Played the Battlestar Gallactica game this weekend for the first time after having it for years. It was enjoyable but so much was going on that I feel we need to play it a few more times to get a good feel for the rules.

Picked up Carcassonne, Kill Doctor Lucky, Small World and Pandemic for today's boardgame session (two players won't be here for D&D).
Check out Wil Wheaton's play-through if you haven't: http://youtu.be/X9QtdiRJYro
I was going to pick up Settlers of Catan, but they were sold out so I bought it via Amazon last night too.

Carcassonne and Small World are great games. I'm not a fan of co-op board games, so Pandemic isn't really my thing, but for a freaking amazing co-op one, check out Space Alert.

Played a ton of games yesterday (like eleven hours of boardgame awesomeness and I wish we could have played more!). I will give a quick review. Beyond that, feel free to ask any questions.
Carcassonne: great game that I have only played two player so far (three or four games). It is perfect for a quick game while waiting for a session to start or people to show up. This makes me think of dominoes with resource allocation. The level of difficulty isn't too bad for this one.
Small World: Amazingly creative and was a blast with both two players and with five players. I love this game and am glad I picked it up. This makes me think of a less tedious and more fun themes Risk that also comes with insane amount of replay value. I would say that middle school or so is about the minimum for this one (we had a 12 year do decently)
Kill Doctor Lucky: fun game with much less of a learning curve than most but still has lots of flavor. It felt like it was much more difficult to strategize in this one, but I actually think it forces simplicity and becomes a good thing. This one might be blasphemy, but I have never played clue. I know that this game was fun and didn't play quite like anything I have played before. This seems like one that young kids could play with adult help.
Pandemic: I don't think I have really ever played anything like this. The level of cooperation was great. It felt like we were really making a difference by discussing strategy of every move. The cooperative aspect made it so the 12 year old did fine but I think it helped the other three of us seemed to have a decent strategy going.
